The move is punishable because they made it so you can air tech out of it way too early, if you don't tech I'm pretty sure it's a hard knockdown like every throw. To make sure you could react and tech it even at the age of 60 they were generous enough to turn the entire game gray when dio grabs you

For his hitbox and ability to fly is fucking stupid because believe it or not most lows DONT wiff on petshop and flying just flat sucks most of the time because you can’t block and you get tech chased. And finally for the “spam super” you clearly don’t play this game.

forgot to mention that shadow dio has most of his tools working on petshop(including his entire loop string that can give you up to 70% on average hp characters) so hes one of the few characters that have 5:5 or even favorable matchup with the bird

Vanilla Ice is interesting - he is technically a 'weapon Stand user' like Chaka, Alessi, and Joseph, but unlike them, he has a tandem instead of a custom combo.

as a renowned hftf expert (person who learned one jotaro bnb and got called the n-word by the first fightcade opponent i landed it on), i think dio's legendary difficulty is worthy of its own study. i legitimately can't comprehend how anyone consistently hits dio combos, and i respect them a lot for it, even when I'm landing a TOD on them because they accidentally threw me. (genuinely tho love the hftf videos good work)

Heritage is an interesting example of a game finding a second shot at life. I hope one day, maybe years from now, we see Capcom make another JoJo game. It's a shame GioGio's Bizarre Adventure was the last one they ever did.

I'm not the biggest Fighting Game guy, but I can appreciate the art of design that goes into them, and I find it hilarious how HFTF straddles that line between being a good Fighting Game and being a faithful adaptation of the source material. Vanilla Ice being one of the scariest dudes ever is extremely fitting, as are most of the other top-tier characters in terms of how/why they earn their spots.

The Only reason Avdol isn't Top 1 in the game is because his Ankh Ghosting Glitch is Hard banned across casual play, If used he becomes unbearable and makes the game actually unplayable.

Should have mentioned Dio's timestop glitch combo. It's not super important in the meta, but I've seen it banned from enough tournaments that it is worth mentioning.

20:05 Ironically, at lower levels, Jotaro's timestop is actually better than the Dios' because it's faster and it's easier to land damage. But it's still not a very good move since you can just counter it or jump it.

Originally Guile's hair was meant to be more of a solid copy of Pol's, but a designer at Capcom split it in half for a laugh and the rest of the team ended up liking how it looked (on top of referencing another Jojo character) so they kept it as it is now.

@MrMixtape Decades ago I'd found a weird move with Oingo on the DC version that I never replicated with hours of trying every input from every fighting game and never cross confirmed it with anyone, nor seen it mentioned in a video. It looked like one of Kak's floating nets, but it was made out of pipes and had Oingo's stupid looking face in the middle. It'd be a relief of useless information in my brain if someone could cross confirm its input or if it's still a hidden piece of knowledge.

Assuming you're referring to Hol Horse and Boingo (Hoingo), he has a move where he fires bullets into a pipe and the pipes appear on screen. If that's not what you're referring to, then I'm not quite sure unless it's something that happens in the console-exclusive Super Story Mode.

Wow, so it isn't so well known. This was totally different than shooting into the pipes and more like a net. It wasn't super story mode as I believe that was only PS1 at the time, it was on a US release copy of heritage. If it's really that obscure, maybe someone can find the small pipe net with Oingo's face animation and command in a data rip. I'd do it myself if I knew how. It'd be nice to see a bottom tier character have one more move.

@@elkofdeathif you achieved it by spamming direction inputs while shooting bullets, it’s a bug. For some reason spamming up and down causes the hit box from his bullet to get stuck, and it causes the boingo sprite to show up. Most tournaments ban it due to being an exploit, alongside a similar thing Avdol can do with Ankhs to achieve infinite damage.

i just started and in my first story mode attempts. i literally only went up against atleast S tiers. trying to fight polnareff as shadow dio makes me want to die. when i first beat him and i went up against the other cancer avdol, he made me ragequit just so that i can discover that the story mode doesn't save progress. and jotaro, i don't wanna talk about that. i then tried playing as avdol just to prove to myself that he's OP and literally just spammed attacks/idk the moveset) for the entire time and won the whole story in like 25 minutes. i beat devo's story tho, my fav character now

This game is really cool. I like it, so does my younger brother. I was going to get it for him, for the PS1. Then... I seen the price... $100+ just for the disc, or $500+ for the game in the jewel case. So, I said; "nah", and emulated it. Glad I did that. And figured that out so we can now play this awesome game for free, instead of 100+ dollars at the minimum.

Lol you are right it is way easier to list the ways Kak isn’t busted (ie ways he is worse than some other character in the game). -slowest wakeup timing -No unblockables -No IPS immune infinite -No meterless TOD -No fullscreen overhead or Low projectiles. - People will make fun of you if you lose.

Im fine with unbalanced shit. I come from marvel vs capcom thats held together with twigs and thread, and thats why its so good. Especially when you need execution, unless you're some kind of dirty hitbox cheater
