What's up bud! So Red's z800 has clocked almost 47 000km, and it still has that popping. But, he only has a slip-on. No remap or any ECU work. When you remove the stock exhaust you change the back-pressure, and with the stock fueling it tends to run rich, thus the popping happens because of the extra fuel being burned off. When you remap the bike you essentially fix the fueling ratio, and naturally less fuel will be burned off, therefore way less popping. So yes, remapping your bike took the "backfire" away, but you bumped up the efficiency, you're not burning off extra fuel in the exhaust anymore haha. The only way to get it back is by making the bike run rich again, so get a different map for it, or get the stock map back on. This is long, I'm rambling, but I hope that helps :D

@@zseries751 I have a 2015 z1000 I deleted the catalytic converter and installed dual Carbon Fiber Yoshimura full exhaust and it sounds just like this except when I rev it super high and back off the throttle it back fires and sounds like a shotgun and also shoots out huge flames xD

Remove the catalytic converter (assuming you wont get into too much problems with the law). The catalytic converter dampens the noise and brutality alot. Second, get an aftermarket high flow air filter. And then finally, if you want to make the bike pop and misfire, when running high revs and decelerating, give just a tiny bit of throttle. You'll see the bike either pops, or it gurgles. Cheers

The z800 has a "Reconstructed" slip on exhaust, they are locally made in South Africa. And yes, the catalytic converter has been removed :)

@@zseries751 I got mine in Black and White. Lovely bike honestly. Forgave me multiple times. Thanks to my soft throttle hand. Well planted. I’ll hit reconstructed up for all cosmetics. Seems like they are the guys to go to.

Decat. Remove any catalytic converter. Basically straight pipe it. Second, you'll see that this muffler is very very short. Almost no sound dampening. These mufflers were designed to be loud. The gp m2 will probably improve it, but your best bet is to get a pipe thats alot shorter.

@@zseries751 if I will take the catalyst out and I keep my akrapovic carbon will be very loud? I know that is I put a shorter pipe will be more loud but maybe too much. I think I will do the decat only and I will keep the akrapovic also💨💥

Currently own a z800e. Im 1.91m. Perfect bike. And i fit it good enough.

Kawasaki really did a good job with managing the weight, really great bike for traffic and being thrown around lol

@@zseries751 agreed. I’m learning on the Z800. And I was able to slightly lean it on the second day of riding. A week later, I’m doing snake patterns on the road. Very awesome bike.

Hi, red here: Z800 💁‍♂️ ...personally I prefer the more aggressive aesthetic of the z800. There's also not so much of a power difference, especially if you know how to launch. The z800 just has that flare you want in a naked.

EXACTLY the only reason why I picked Z800 over the Z900. Z800 just looks way sexier and plus like you mentioned the power difference is little.
