Love seeing the new videos. After getting a taste of your shorter and longer videos, I find I appreciate the longer form, even if it takes me multiple sittings to watch one through. Do what works though. That’s just my 1/2 cent, adjusted for inflation.

I wish that AI would report "end of line", in addition to the current "fusee in track", "switch set against" and "facing another train" reports - this would prompt me to take action when a train completes the task I set it to. I also set crews on my local trains (like you "Bryson Local", and all the other yards) - helps me to track where a locomotive is supposed to be, especially when it goes off on a cross country hike! I've also taken to appling the locomotive handbrake when there are no pending jobs for it - it's an extra level of safety, when I have the wrong train selected, and I accidentally try to send a sleeping locomotive out in the wild dangerous yonder.

It’s nice to see that you and Al have such a good working relationship. I hope in the future they put npc models in so when the ai is driving there’s someone in the cab.

I love my C-46s. They can do nearly 1,000 tons each going up towards Robinson Gap.

I switched out my mogul at Wwhittier for a logging mikado, the proper one not the tank version. Works great handling the logging runs and all the switching for Whittier and Ela. It would probably work well up at Alarka and the coal mine despite being a bit big for a switching engine. Ps: When you buy the track to Sylva you'll unlock a milestone to build a yard and engine facilities and such at Dillsboro and that comes with a turntable so you can turn locomotives around.

I replaced my G-16 Mogul for the bigger G-25 Mogul once the smaller one started to struggle. Eventually want a fleet of C-55 Connies doing all the heavy freight with SW1's in every yard with fuel.

I noticed as well that birds in here are crazy high volume

I went with Big Mike as the Alarka switcher - just because of the heavy loads of coal and ore. The G25 could do it, but it was a bit of a struggle. But then I'm using a C55 for the main freight... and even that struggles with the Topton grade (both directions), so I might need another C55 as a pilot/banker based at Nantahala or Andrews (depending where the heavy freight currently is!!!)

I have no idea what to buy, but i do know that i need something better than the second mogul to pull heavy trains past Bryson

I decided to try buying all the locomotives in order (took a big loan early on to buy and set up Silva branch - but once it was repaid I kept nearly without debt, only taking couple small loans that were repaid on the same day). So far approaching the biggest steam engines - and it looks like I might assign most of them to Andrews-Nantahala part (starting cargo operations there). Which one ended up at Alarka? The tank engine! It's relatively strong and very maneuverable and has no trouble with the mines. And can even go pick deliveries from the Alarka Junction. And that's about how much range it has. Perfectly good for Alarka with the water tower in the middle of it all. Could probably be good for Bryson-Walker, if you decide to handle the local part of this logging operation with a separate locomotive. Uncomfortably low water for East Whittier-Connely logging runs.

Don't overlook that 0-8-0 switcher. That looks like the late game local engine for me.
