I lived in a house directly behind the Otero House which were the first victims of the BTK. Not during the time of the killings however. Before they caught the BTK they had several suspects and one of them was my uncle, probably because he was kind of a wild and crazy philosopher that taught philosophy at Wichita State.

I got sucked into that story years ago and I regret the time I spent paying attention to any of it. I've watched videos and interviews of Bundy and Gacy but the BTK guy really upset me more than anything I've ever seen. Evil is a real thing. We rarely, if ever, ever see pure evil in life. And even just catching a glimpse of it passively through a video can be too much to handle sometimes.

I love when Chael branches out from mma, weather it’s food review or talking about serial killers. We’re here for it.

I never watch the news or listen to the radio. I rely purely on uncle Chael to tell me what's going on in the world

I've listened to too many killers talking about walking into unlocked doors and away from locked doors to not keep the house locked.

I enjoy all of Chael’s MMA content but I also love when he branches out and talks about other things, he’s able to speak about things in a way that’s really engaging.

He has always been a huge part of my towns history. If you ask a lot of the women above the age of 60 here they will tell you how that was a very very hard time for them and they were terrified to even go outside until he got caught. It was very traumatizing.

My thoughts are that he lied about the question of "are there anymore" to keep something for himself. As a way of claiming a victory over the authorities. Could he in his own mind manipulate the authorities into thinking what he wanted them to think. An exertion of control and power. The minds of these serial killers is a chilling and fascinating place. Great video Chael!

Chael, during the 1970s, I was a young boy living with my single mom and older sister in Wichita. It's chilling to think that the BTK Killer, who lived just 9 miles away in Park City, likely passed by our house on Highway K-15 as he commuted into Wichita to seek out new victims. He would then return multiple times to stalk, ultimately proceeding to Bind, Torture, and Kill them. Thankfully, we relocated to Southern California amidst all the terror he was causing. I've continued to follow the BTK case over the years. It's haunting to consider that he held the role of a Deacon in his church. As you were (possibly) alluding to, his possession of polaroid photographs depicting himself in asphyxiated and partially buried states of death, in makeshift graves is a testament to his pure madness and evil nature.

Didn’t expect this topic to be covered but surprisingly entertaining coming from Chael.

I've been following BTK for a decade. He is the most evil of all serial killers in my opinion. The torture/suffocating of his victims is pure evil.

Not so fun fact: BTK's wife was reading the note he left for police (It was in the newspaper). She said to him "Oh look honey the killer misspells this word the same way that you do". BTK considered killing her for that but she never connected the dots

I lived near Wichita, Kansas back before they caught this guy, but they were talking about him ('98-'01). If I remember correctly he lived in a part of that area they called Park City. At the time I was offered a job that offered to move me closer to the place of work than I was already living. Great offer but they wanted to move me to Park City where they all lived. I turned the job offer down because of a few things, but one of those things was that I'd heard they thought BTK was living in or around the Park City area. His crimes spanned several years, and it was all fairly well known there was someone they were referring to as BTK. On the other hand, if you want the other end of the spectrum, check out The Carr brothers, a couple of spreekillers that terrorized several people over the course of a few days. Some of the crimes they committed will literally turn your stomach.

He got himself caught by asking the Police a question through his way of contact which was the newspaper. He asked can (old school) floppy disk be used for tracking reasons? The Police answered no in the paper. Then a floppy disk shows up. When he sent mail the name was always a name where the first letter combined equals BTK... Example = Brian Thomas Kaiser So the police take the disc, & of course it leads them to the computer used for this disc. This cpu was at his church where he was deacon... This was the beginning of the end...

I lived under the specter of BTK, watched his court confessional, horrifying. A family member was almost killed by him many years ago and I worked with one of only 2 journalists to have interviewed Dennis Rader in jail.

When you mentioned he looks grumpy: it made me chuckle thinking about a skit where they catch a killer and he confesses that he did it because he was grumpy from having a ingrown toe nail or a bad infected splinter. (As if that's understandable) i could see Mad TV doing a comedy sketch like that as a dumb dark joke. (I just saw a news report that his daughter found out he has a bunch of undiscovered hiding spots) i hope they find more answers because BTK was active for so long. He worked with a home security company, and the church.. who knows what else we haven't learned about...
