Some nice comment below. People appreciating the craft involved back in the day. I recall, perhaps it was Kenny Dope, saying that in the early to mid-90's your imagination was bound by the limits of the technology. With only 8Mb of RAM you had to choose your samples very carefully, ensuring they blended and kept interest throughout the entire track. There was no other option; build a 14 minute club track from 10 samples or go home. Thus producers developed methods for keeping interest, building anticipation etc. This track is the perfect example of this. The sound palette is limited but they work with what they have like Masters, bringing samples in and out of the mix at the right time, elevating the entire thing to classic status. The reason this remains so powerful is that it was laboured over, not bashed-out like a lazy wank with every technological advantage available. Why/how is this so good? It shouldn't be 20-odd years later, right?

you overestimate the limits of RAM as limits to production. DJ s could drop samples right off the turntable into the mixing desk. e.g. every rap track ever

Spittin facts bro. The reason why its so good...cuz the producers god given talent and soul created this, not the computer software.

First heard this on King St 12” import, late ‘94. Still remember having my mind blown at how original the sound is - we literally watched the grooves at the record shop, felt the build of anticipation, then all had minds blown when the sample drops. Fast forward to Cafe de Paris a week later, it sounds amazing loud, Dave Lambert of Positiva dropped it at Peach and the place went bonkers.

The song was from the 1st track of the group's studio album All in the Wind and was issued as the album's 2nd single early in 1995. This track takes me back to late 1996/97. Sampled from Chicago "Street Player" (1979).

This one takes me right back to the summer of '95, right after I moved to Chicago. I would go clubbing at places like the Vortex and Berlin, which were both just blocks away from my apartment in Wrigleyville, and this 15-minute long motherfucker was HOT that summer. I can remember the DJ would tease the crowd by sneaking it into another song, just for a second, and we'd all lose our shit.

A classic banger I never, ever get tired of at all. However, Kenny "Dope" misinterpreted the lyrics as "These sounds fall into my mind," when the correct lyrics from the sampling of Chicago's "Street Player" is "Street sounds swirling through my mind."

This is the House Music I like to listen to. Lolz a lot of you probably don't know WHAT House Music is. My dad is a DJ and does a lot of songs like this one. He actually used this one in a mix he made. His music isn't like the rap people listen to today. This music is clean, and fresh. I mean, I like rap too, but not a lot. I love this song SO much! I perfer this music rather than rap actually.
