So the story behind the parents is that Maddie and Evan had an older brother and the parents had Evan essentially to save their older brother's life. But the older brother died anyway and then the parents became neglectful and showed no love to their children and Maddie basically took care of Buck and raised him, but Buck always looked for danger so that he would get noticed by his parents. As an adult Maddie encouraged Evan to find a place where he is truly loved and is happy and that's how he ended up as a firefighter. She sadly couldn't join him because she was stuck in an abusive marriage and her husband threatened her life if she joined her brother. That's why she kept all of Evan's postcards and pictures he sent, bc she wished she could've been there.

Buck worked construction, tried out for the SEALs, worked on a ranch in Montana. He also was a bartender, a couple of times. One of them was in Peru. I didn't travel far, but i also became disabled at 36, so needed help. I suffer permanent pain, arthritis in both knees.

I love the sibling relationship between Buck/Evan & Maddie, their parents weren't the most present so maddie stepped up and helped raise Buck. The show itself is an enjoyable watch 😄
