Thereafter it would certainly be life changing for you as you need to continue carry on life strictly observing the five precepts and follow the noble eightfold paths such that you continue to reduce your karmic value and does not gain further karmic value so that when your death arrives you would have exhausted the last of your karmic value where rebirth would be impossible.

The one that brought it, not you that refused it. I believe that same reasoning applies. Mara brings the gift of defeat. But Mara doesn't exist for a Self like Buddha, and neither do Mara's gifts. However, if you accept it, it will be yours, a gift from Mara. It's up to you to accept.

@Doanh Phong Bạch think about it carefully, when satan was once lucifer, he was a high ranking chief/arch angel in heaven like god himself (michael's name in origin means "one like god" or "like of god") one of the highest & best of angels and had almost all the knowledge of god as well. Until he turned away from difference in opinion, he set fire/destroyed/warred in heaven then lost and fell from heaven (banned for sometime and entered heaven once or a few times for some dispute with God and plans) and was trapped inbetween on earth and hell. Yes, truth told, read or taught are not the same as truth discovered, seen and experience by oneself that satisfy the "Ehipassiko" doctrine. Buddha I believe acknowledged God. He is credited with renouncing the claim of God. I believe if Buddha knew Mara He would know the source, and by that he would have known Jesus if not of His coming. Then again, maybe he did not accept Jesus, I don't know because I was not there. I do know Jesus says not to judge, and I have met this being Mara, I can say that this Mara is the actual devil so there must have been hope that Buddha knew God.

@@Toxicstrike91 Well Buddha never denied God nor did he say there was a God… It was a bit odd because he didn’t mind about it. Buddhists can be Atheists just as they can be Polytheists or Monotheists. Buddha is similar to Jesus on many ways, he also defeated the temptations of Mara, the manifestation of Negative energy. Like how Jesus defeated the temptations of the Devil. Personally I am a Christian and a Buddhist at the same time, believe me, Christianity and Buddhism complement one another very well, I never felt closer to God before than by applying the Buddhist philosophy to my Christian faith.

​@@Manoatevarua I am Christian too and I believe Buddha was an amazing figure , who has never failed to fascinate me Yet, for me, the foundamental difference between he and Jesus is that by reaching enlightenment, Siddhartha showed us how to feel compassion for all creatures and resistance to the temptations of our ego, But Jesus... Jesus died an excruciating death to save us all from sin. When he was tempted by the devil, he knew what he was going to face: horrible sufference and death. But he did it anyway, because through his death, he was setting an example of a man deafeating temptation even when the price to pay was the highest possible. I cannot imagine a highest form of compassion and love, a love only a God made man can show. I believe God came into our world through Jesus to understand human suffering and temptation, in order to love us even more and be compassionate toward our weakness.
