Marcello Colafigli known as Marcellone one of the bosses of the Roman mafia organization known as the Banda della Magliana.
Introduced into the original nucleus of the Banda della Magliana from the very beginning by Giuseppucci himself, on 7 November 1977, he took part in the kidnapping of Duke Grazioli, considered the birth certificate of the Band itself. He will then be one of the killers, together with Nicolino Selis, Giovanni Piconi, Renzo Danesi and Giorgio Paradisi who on July 25, 1978, in the parking lot of the Roman racecourse of Tor di Valle, killed Franco Nicolini (called Franchino Er criminal), absolute master of all the clandestine bets of the racecourse and whose illegal activities had aroused the interest of the newborn Band who, from that moment on, had the green light to be able to manage a gigantic source of income. On 27 August he participated in the murder of Sergio Carozzi, a merchant from Ostia who had dared to denounce Nicolino Selis for extortion, who in those days was released from the Montelupo Fiorentino psychiatric hospital with an award permit; it was Edoardo Toscano who riddled Carozzi with blows while his accomplices were Colafigli (he was sentenced to 27 years in prison), Fabrizio Selis, Renzo Danesi, Enzo Mastropietro and Libero Mancone.
In the subdivision of the territory for the sale of drugs, Colafigli (together with Abbatino) controlled the area of Magliana and San Paolo. Towards the end of the eighties, through his contacts, Marcellone had several loads of heroin arrive by sea from Sicily through the Totò Riina mafia clan.
The figure of Colafigli inspired the character of Bufalo in the book Romanzo criminale, written in 2002 by Giancarlo De Cataldo and referring to the real events of the Banda della Magliana. In the homonymous film that was later adapted from it, directed by Michele Placido in 2005, the character of the Bufalo was played by the actor Francesco Venditti, while in the television series, directed by Stefano Sollima, he was played by Andrea Sartoretti. He was also interpreted by Roberto Brunetti in Fatti della banda della Magliana.
