A little update as to where I’m at so far with the build.
The roof rack and lights are a big upgrade for me but it’s definitely time to finish some of the trimming up that needs finishing.

Thing is, when you drive a tall vehicle like a 4x4 or a van, you can often see OVER hedges at night and be dazzled by oncoming cars that can't see your headlights. Stick some running lights on the roof and, hopefully, oncoming drivers will see them and realise that if they can see your DRLs they need to turn off their main-beams. And, of course, some decent spotties on the roof can also help persuade oncoming drivers to turn off their main-beams under similar conditions.

I’ve got Scanstrut cable glands on my van. Sikaflexed pieces of 1/2” polypropylene under where the glands were going and screwed into that. They’re expensive but you get what you pay for. It’s all the little details, like tapered grommets that are compressed as the cover is fitted and the sloped cable guide that runs to the hole that show they’ve really thought about making the best.

@@Bugoutvehiclesuk That’s what I do too mate, started off kipping on an airbed in the back of a Terrano at Edale and now got a van but not as rugged as your van but it gets me out which is the main thing.

Loving it so far, I’m pleased u like the renogy set up as I’m just about to upgrade my split charger set up to a renogy b2b with mppt solar controller and renogy lithium battery

A good update Rich. When you offer your insight it makes all the difference. On the subject of diesel eater fuel. I would always opt to keep them separate. Any news on the early meet this year?

Lights look great. What’s the story with Boreman? They look identical to Strands which I had been eyeing for mine. A quick search seems to show these are an Irish brand located only up the road from me! I’d never heard of them.

@@roberttaylor4780 on the vans you put rails in the gutters and bolt them to the roof then you mount to that. It’s very close to the pop top.
