This is a video showing the construction of Nemesis the new ride at Alton Towers in 1994. It has clips from the Nemesis X video and this was recorded from a TV show in 1993 called The Scream Machine.

You really get the impression that Wardley is passionate about giving people a great experience. God bless him, he designs the best rollercoasters IMO. No one comes close for me.

Just come back from scarefest 2020, I have ridden smiler 18 times and wickerman 5, but there is something extremely special about nemesis. It’s a timeless classic

38 years old and went on my first ever roller coaster yesteday...it was this. I feel extremely lucky as it will be closing for a year. I went on everything at Alton towers, including the new wicker man and this is still by far the best coaster there. I am now a roller coaster fan thanks to this masterpiece :)

i think the first inversion is more of a corkscrew and the last twist a barrel roll

it is but back then Barrel Rolls, Zero G rolls and Corkscrews were all in the same category and there was nothing to define them by so people used different names interchangeably

The last inversion is a corkscrew because it exits to the side of the entrance of the inversion bc a heart line roll comes back into the heart lining of the inversion

+Podulator McPodulator In terms of smoothness, scenery and intensity, Nemesis is the better coaster. The proof is since it's opened in 1994, it's been 9th on the leaderboard of best coaster in the world. Smiler is like 30th. I do understand a opinion so don't get mad :)

Almost nothing Stengel & B&M designs is "crap." They are simply some of the most brilliant & creative coaster designers that have ever existed. They have finally found out how to do steel coasters just right. Schwartzkopf knew how to design steel coasters, too, but unfortunately he is gone. Many of his masterpieces live on, still. I'm a wood coaster hobbyist/enthusiast at heart, but B&M and Schwartzkopf have the greatest steel coasters on the planet.

You’d think this ride was made in universal studios. Such high spec for its era and still for its time. The detail the sound affect, the layout is brilliant. JOHN WARDLY SHOILD BE PERMANENTLY HIRED AT THEME PARKS, then universals would get a run for its money..

They would never do that, corkscrew was just a standard vekoma design, nemesis is built into the landscape, is themed extensively and was built by an arguably much better company, either way, after all the rides that have been built afterwards, nemesis is probably still most peoples favourite :)

@THN1324 I don't know if they operate at night, I just searched online but couldn't find anything about it being open at night, I now that they light it up though, anyway I hope they do so you can go on Infusion, & it looks great lit up at night judging by the photos I've seen online. The closing times for the Pleasure Beach are on the official website, (8pm or 5pm in October), according to what day you go.

@THN1324 The back throws you around much more because it's faster. B&M coasters are smooth though in comparison to others, just go on Infusion at Blackpool & you'll notice the difference, that ride is rough.
