@@ninjabo0117 I think it's more about gas, breaking from the space between the barrel and the drum. Actually I would like to make some kind of casing to protect the shooter's hands from that. Or even better, used Nagan's revolver mechanisms and the caliber.

It's nice that the cylinder gap sits right above your thumb. After the first shot when escaping gases split and possibly detach your thumb from the rest of your palm, you suddenly understand why nobody ever did that.

The problem with this would be the cylinder gap gas coming out. It looks like this could be directed to the top,... maybe. But that might cause a the other bullets to potentially discharge, too.

IT IS TERRIBLE, now if you didn't know I wouldn't blame you but revolvers have exhaust gasses which can burn your fingers out of the front, so this would be like putting your fingers in a campfire

@juan.2513 it's very clear when you look at the design this Is taken into account, there's a guard for the top of you hand. All gasses would be directed sideways and up.

It seems to me that the concept of "Revolver Bullpup" has the right to life if done correctly. From the problem with powder gases that will destroy your fingers, you can use a locking system like a revolver Nagant. Or use the SP-4 cartridge as in the silent revolver OTS-38 (when the bullet flies out using a special piston, while locking the powder gases in the sleeve)

It’s one of those things that would not be strictly impossible but offer so little in benefit and so much more in unneeded complications that nobody would make it even if money was no issue. It’s like asking if anybody has seen a jet powered triplane. The only thing I see going for it is a low bore axis, but the less weird (but still weird) matebas and chiappa revolvers already do that without being bullpup.

Obviously the problem here is the escaping gas from the cylinder BUT i have a suggestion. The Nagant revolver used a special system where the cylinder would be pushed and seal either the barrel of the gun, and with the special encased ammo that it could use meant that you could use a suppressor with it. What if a similar system could be used for this bullpup revolver? Yes its a lot of hoops for not much payoff but conceptually doable.

Other than the obvious oversight of *the offgasses scorching your hand to Muspelheim and back* , from an ergonomic standpoint this work would very well for loading and ejecting depending which handedness you are. I can just see someone ejecting cases with their trigger finger and loading a round immediately with their offhand. *Of course this thing would be required to be single action because there's no way in hell you're trusting double action with this setup* .

You guys do know that if he just adds a small shield for your hands and maks the gasses get shot to the right or up, you now have more places to grip the gun then a conventional revolver. Plus you get to enjoy a longer barrel with that, so it's a win win. However, the recoil would be "shit ass" as you got alot more weight behind the grip and above it.

There’s four issues that I see here. 1: the trigger would probably suck because of the complex linkage between the trigger and the hammer on the back. 2: your thumb and your trigger finger is going to suffer from third degree burns from that cylinder gap. 3: that recoil is going to be ridiculous no matter what caliber it’s shooting because of the raised cylinder. 4: it’s a bullpup revolver, what the hell else did you think I was going to say?

I feel like you woukd need to add a gaurd above the trigger to prevent the gasses from potentially hurting your fingers, besides that this might work though this offers almost no advantages to a normal revolver
