I really really disagree with your take. And I would like to state my opinion on why. So first off, it’s a deep draft. Like 8-10 players deep potentially. Some even say that players around 11-20 will still be good role players. And you use the argument that if we keep it this year we can still lose it next year. 80% chance to keep it and 20% to lose it. My question is, do you prefer to draft this year or wait till next year? The answer should be this year. Okay that’s out of the way. You don’t want to tank for one year because that will instill a loser mentality when we should be competing. What are we competing for? What have we been competing since we picked up Dwade and Rondo? 1 round exit? Play in elimination games? You don’t want to see a bad product and I understand. My question is, would you rather see the bulls tank for just 1 year and potentially reach 2nd round exits or continue to see the mediocrity that we have been seeing for almost 10 years now? I’m tired of being competitive. I want to see the Bulls be contenders. The counter argument is that we have build up our young players and then make moves. My argument is no one wants to come here. Not Lebron, Wade Bosh or even Carmelo. Hell we weren’t even Demar first choice. We haven’t been able to make deep play off runs since Jordan. Only time that happened was during the Derrick Rose era and because we got lucky and got him. What made that team exciting is that they played great and if we only had him healthy we knew we could win. I don’t see this in our future. We don’t have a superstar. Coby had one good year but he is not a superstar. His highest ceiling will be the number 2. Ayo in my opinion should be traded for a 1st from this year unprotected.And I don’t understand why the excuse for not tanking is so we don’t make a loser mentality when we are already losers. When was the last time we were at .500 and had a solid postseason? The arguments for not tanking for one year don’t make sense. I would also like to state that only this year we should tank and not the following year

The bottom line is we have 0 stars this is a draft filled with potential stars. You have to have stars to win. I think that should mean cutting Vucs minutes if you can't trade Zach let him put up big numbers on a bad team to trade him. I think this is already a bottom 5 roster in basketball (without Lavine) and I can't think of a reason to play players like Vuc major minutes.

I think the bulls getting Josh Giddy was great for us because he's a natural point guard. However it pushes ayo to the bench it'll slow his development. I think cody & ayo should be our backcourt and perhaps our future star duo. Now, perhaps if ayo develops his natural point guard skills he'll be the starting point guard. I think we package lavine, a 2030 1st and a 2nd for THT, Walker Kessler and a 2025 1st. Package vuc and a 2nd for Brandon Clarke and a pick. Sign n trade giddy to a team where he can just expand his skills and develop properly Like Utah. Trade him there, get a pick for him. Then hope we get a top 10 pick in the 2025 draft. If we do draft ethier Noa Essengue, ace baily, or drake Powell to be our starting power forward. I personally would draft Xavier Booker. Then our lineup should be 1. Ayo, 2. Coby white, 3. Patrick Williams, 4. Jalen Smith, & 5. Walker Kessler Bench: 1. Dalen terry, 2. THT, 4. Juilan Philips, 4. Matas buzelis & 5. Xavier Booker

I don’t think that you should purposely tank but I don’t think this team has an identity yet. We just have a bunch of young guys who really don’t have the experience of what it takes to when a chip yet. It’s just absurd that the Bulls are still paying for acquiring Demar, four years ago. I’m sure they hoped these draft picks would be late first rounders. But that’s why when it was clear that the roster wasn’t working, they HAD TO get value for those players, preferably first round picks. But then they opted for continuity and a playoff run that was doomed to fail, even if they made it out of the play in. It’s just been a colossal failure. You’re right, these guys should have a chance to compete. I’m just nauseated with the thought of letting the same clowns rebuild the roster

We cant lose that pick. Im all for competing and not cheating the game, but they must follow through with what they have already started. It will be tough for White and Ayo who have already suffered through many losses, but gotta play youngsters a ton and that alone should be enough to keep that pick. It's a tear-down to build up. Look at Bulls history, success has only come through the draft. We cant afford to not keep that pick. If somehow they just start whooping teams with no Dd, Lavine, Vooch and Caruso then let them run, but that is far-fetched.

I believe this season’s bulls team will not need to intentionally lose, it will happen pretty organically. For the simple fact that they’re a young team where many of the key players have not played together, they will be forced into roles they’re not accustomed to, plus there isn’t a quality veteran presence on the team to keep them mentally and emotionally focused when losing does occur. And I don’t think Donovan will be that type of coach that would right the ship, or at least he hasn’t shown he is. And considering the Bulls really don’t have a lot of future draft capital (and it doesn’t seem as though they are interested in obtaining any) it would be to their best interest to take advantage of the 2025 first round pick they own in the top 10. I mean what does it benefit to gain a 9th seed just to lose in the play-in…again.

I’m kind of leaning towards wanting them to tank. We have good young players in Coby, Ayo, Giddey, Pat, and hopefully Matas but the roster is still not constructed good enough to win. They’re obviously not making the playoffs and as for the play-in tournament there’s a possibility but this draft class is too good to pass up on. Id much rather lose and get someone like Flagg or Bailey than “win” and lose in the play-in tournament. When you have a chance to get a guy like Cooper Flagg on your team who is a generational talent you have to take it.

I think it depends how the season goes. This team as constructed could weirdly do better than last year. Addition by subtraction type situation. If that happens the bulls are going to want to see how far they can go. And at the end of the day players want to win they dont like tanking. However, if the bulls are looking at the same pace or worse than last year i could see them purposely looking at standings to make sure they keep the pick which at that point wouldnt be a bad idea. As long as you draft and develop correctly, being a young team isnt a negative anymore. Especially at this point in the sport where the tides are shifting from old to young. I dont think gunning for "proven" stars or vets is the best move either. A vet wouldnt hurt just for the leadership and experience but i think the core should be young guys because thats the market of the league right now the ogs arent getting it done its mostly the 5-10 year guys. Plus with players like ant, morant coming back its a young mans game. To remain competitive we need a talented young core with rebounding and hard nosed defense. If i was running the bulls i would hold off on trading lavine let him build value this year because he deserves that he shouldnt be traded for scraps thats ridiculous especially after how the demar trade went. The caruso trade i think the bulls actually won. I think the bulls will be a way better situational fit for giddey.

I don't know about what's ahead for next yr. Folks slept on Coby last season and he showed the NBA his true colors. I believe he has another level to reach. And Ayo is Mr Serious. He's so focused. I expect Ayo to be a duel threat. And then there's Dalen Terry. I'm not saying his game is as smooth as watching a ballerina dance, but I think he's about to have a breakout yr. Some players just want it more. Dalen's that type of player. And Jalen Smith. Are we going to overlook this kid who was drafted in P. Will's draft class only 6 picks later? He's been stuck behind 1st draft pick D'Andre Ayton, and Indy's Myles Turner. Jalen Smith can ball. What about the rook? Matas Buzelis looks like a bona-fide star in the making. How does he fit into the rotation. Then there's Josh Giddey. He's a jump shot away from becoming an All Star. How does it work when Coby, Ayo, Josh, Lonzo, and Zach all need the ball in their hands to be effective playmakers/scorers? Does Chris Durate, and Ornlap Bitum see PT next season? The problem I see with next yrs roster is mixing the old with the new. Hopefully, Vooch, Zach, Lonzo, and Torry Craig will fit in as their roles change from starting level talents to borderline bench players.

There is no guarantee we'll get to Cooper Flagg, hell there's no guarantee we could get Ace Bailey. I want to win, and I don't think Ayo and Coby have superstar potential, but I don't think we should be looking to develop a losing mentality. The Bulls need to look at all the 2025 mock drafts that they can. They will likely fall into the 6-14 range, more likely 9-12. What players fall into these ranges and who doesn't? Statistically, Flagg is not enough reason to ethically tank bad enough to end up in the top 4. And do they see a highly desired player or 2 ranked at pick 11 or worse? They're unlikely to get a top 5 pick where the true elite players reside. I would look at picks 7 and worse and see if you can be satisfied with a particular player and act upon that. It appears the Bulls have already entered into a tank, and would like to get someone in the 5-10 mocked range. Some great players there.

The issue is that outside of Pat, i dont think the bulls have any other starting caliber NBA players on this roster. And pat, at best, is a #3 on a championship team when he hits his prime in 4 years. thus, this is one of the worst teams in the NBA. Coby, Ayo, Phillips and Smith would be great back ups. Ayo or phillips might be a decent 5th starter (ayo today and phillips maybe in a year or 2) Coby is an elite 6th man. Everyone else gotta go - i have zero faith in the slow, short armed euros type players AK loves (giddy, vuc, matas, etc) those guys dont win in todays NBA (or any NBA for that matter) This team is so much worse than you think. they are 1 coby white sprained ankle away from losing 15 games in a row.

Just a bad take. For a team as young as were gonna be we need that pick in a draft thats set up to be really stacked. Rather thats cooper flagg or khaman bulauch. Ace bailey, vj edgecomb? Not prioritizing that pick is such a mistake. Competing for a play in spot is a waste of time

Um, Giddy is the newly acquired playmaker. ZO'S main priority should be making sure that he departs the game with his newly acquired meniscus in one peice🦿 That's an expiring contract that no one cares to touch until further notice. He's not making or breaking anything.

If it were another franchise, yes playing well would attract free agents. But we’re talking about the Bulls… No superstar wants to come here (unless it’s to collect one last paycheck past their prime). This team has to prioritize the draft because lucking into a good player is the only way they ever improve.

@@goobisoft9278the pistons still have better young talent, they have just done a poor job building around cade with non shooters. Being a middling team has done nothing for us either tho. I don't think tanking instilled a losing culture in OKC or boston. It did for a team like Houston, but they had no leadership or direction till they got ime. Now the tank is starting to produce results. It is an overblown narrative I believe tho. It's not tanking that produces a lover's mentality, it is bad leadership

Every win shows growth and every L closer to Flagg and others. Win-Win with young talent. If they were winning a few more games because of older vets that is not the best for the future. But if the Bulls are the 10 seed because White goes nuclear or Giddey is a triple double machine that is great.

our starting lineup would have giddy at PG and vuc at center. so our PG cant shoot or defend and our center can’t block shots, run pick and lobs or switch on defense. that’s prob the worst center and PG combo in the NBA. our wings (pat, ayo, white, phillips, terry and matas) arnt good enough to make up for our awful PG and Center. if Shai and Wemby are the ideal PG & Big how bad are giddy and vuc comparatively?
@rosskanter8156
@rosskanter8156 20 күн бұрын
Exactly. Developing this young core should be number one priority. See where they are at the all star break and tank in the last stretch if need be. Tanking at the start of an 82 game season is ludicrous for a roster of guys looking to compete. Even if they tank and get a high pick, if they don’t get Flagg there is always a chance the pick could bust. Then they would have spent an entire year with a losing mentality on a roster that already has some promising healthy contributors.
@shake6321
@shake6321 20 күн бұрын
development of the young core would naturally lead to tanking since the young core are a bunch of 4th to 8th men. you could put wemby, shaq, embid or hakeem at center and if matas, pwill, white and giddy are the other 4 guys the team would still be awful.

Off topic... The USA basketball team should be decided in a tournament of the last several NBA Finals Champions. Then they can compete to be the World Champions. We always send the best players, but do we ever send the best team? USA have a lot of competition in this Imagine watching the first team do that! USA! Although, it could incentivize teams to not bring in outside US talent which would be a dumb move, but who knows. Shoot, I thought I had a good idea there.

If AKME have learned from their mistakes, they will not simply prioritize building around a core or Coby White, Giddey, Ayo and Pat but rather, they should leverage the value each have developed to secure a haul in exchange for them. Look what Brooklyn did by trading Mikal Bridges to New York. They held onto him until it made sense for them to move on from him. The 2025 draft is loaded and the 2026 draft class looks nice. Im sorry that i disagree with the "Lets compete" philosophy when we dont have a team that is capable of winning... We've done the same thing, year after year, kicking the can, playing well enough to secure a mid lottery pick year after year. We need more bites from the apple. This plan to compete is going to ensure mediocrity for year to come. Look at EVERY other team that is competing for a chip right now. They all sucked before they became what they are today. Tatum and Brown drafted back to back years etc... I'm a fan of developing players and creating a winning culture too but the bottom line is that SUPERSTARS win championships and we dont even have POTENTIAL superstars on our roster right now outside of our recent DRAFTEE! You can't BUILD a house on a crap foundation. You have to tear it fown to the ground to build something that is structurally sound. There are A LOT of POTENTIAL SUPERSTARs in the next two drafts!
