Gator McKlusky returns to pay tribute to the long historic career of the late, great Burt Reynolds. This seventh chapter covers his sharp decline as the number one box office star in the world and Burt's most shocking career defining choices. We begin by focusing on the early and wonderful love shared between Burt and Loni Anderson, followed by a close look into the film they did together, "Stroker Ace" that may have been a turning point in Burt's career, and not for the better. Next, Burt's investment in the U.S.F.L. Tampa Bay Bandits football team shows his commitment and love to the sport that meant so much to him. Following that, we look at "Smokey and the Bandit Part 3"... Yes, we all know Burt chose not to do that film, but there is an interesting story there to tell regardless... Finally, a film that had great potential, "The Man Who Loved Women", has Burt back in that romantic role, but this time with the great Director Blake Edwards and his brilliant wife Julie Andrews. How could that go wrong? We take a close look to see... Stay tuned for more! Cheers! Gator

@@scottblanton3182 really? Burt was one of the highest paid actors in the world. He was 14 million dollars for Sharky’s, he was an executive producer on City Heat. He was paid hundred thousand an episode for Evening Shade. She was one of the ensemble members on a minor tv shows. She lend him money? She was at best a C list celebrity and a barley known bimbo actress until she married Burt fking Reynolds, one of the biggest stars in the world.

@@scottblanton3182 I guess so, I honestly don’t expect movie stars to be saints or even be nice, so long as they don’t cross the line or become abusive. I do think that Burt had a dark and self destructive side to him. He certainly made some really poor decisions regarding his professional life. But I enjoy his old flicks more than any star with exception of maybe Nick Cage and Mel Brooks.
@kamillgran9408

@@scottblanton3182 in my opinion he didn’t cash in his box office with some really great gritty parts. The Redfords and the Warren Beatys would make a big commercial movie but then do a Robert Altman movie, produce or direct an intimate piece which added to their prestige and respect but Burt seemed to be more concerned with good times. I was very young when I saw Reds, the Warren Beaty epic and was astounded by the scope of the movie. Burt did the great Sharkey’s Machine but then did more Hall Needham movies. I still like to watch a Burt movie on tv than a Robert Redford movie but I guess he could have done more with his career.
@kamillgran9408

@@scottblanton3182 I agree but those were the qualities that make us still love Burt Reynolds. Although, I agree that Beaty could act and direct some really great movies I am not a big fan of Redford’s. Burt definitely was too exposed and then would get upset that the critics and the audience always wanted to see the Tonight Show persona. I guess the times were different back then.

I really enjoyed all the chapters on Burt Reynolds, he was an amazing person. It really makes me sad how his health went down and how he lost his fortune. When Netflix first came out l thought it would have all these old movies but all they have is new movies. Does anyone know if Burt’s movies are for sale at amazon? 🤔

Burt was always dependent on box office receipts and when that stopped he basically stopped...other actors took roles based on quality not how much money the film would make.

Could you do a documentary detailing Burts complex finances. I know he got into trouble with Po Folks and Daisy's Diners but he made around 13 million dollars from Heat, Malone, Rent A Cop, Switching Channel and Physical Evidence. Alot of money in around a 4 year period and then he was paid alot for BL Stryker etc...what exactly happened with all that money? And Burt did some great acting in The Hollywood Sign check it out.
