The Bushmen have to go back to their only safe mine, as thieves made their best mines too unsafe to mine. Luckily, they are able to still find some potch opal there.

Outback Opal mining must be one of the hardest careers you can choose. And it's others making a fortune on their back, never the miners themselves. Just look at their vehicles and their camps. That's one tough life.

They raid in the middle of the night. There's only two men, they have to sleep and eat and that's when these scumbags go in. They hide and watch and wait for the miners to leave. They're like poachers of wildlife. They have no concern for the efforts that have gone in and don't care about the damage they cause.
