Hi again, Papa Geoff; We did make it to 47 F. here yesterday and are to see that again today. More ice and snow melting off the streets. It's 26 F. as I write this at 0415 MST. I think a better option would have been a water hose with 212-degree hot water to wash it out with. Needed to do that in car 8 as well. I think the missing days are due to weather not playing fair. Or something like that. There was a lot of drifting snow across Nebraska from that storm. BNSF had the rotary snowplows on the prowl in several areas of that state and video of the plows in action have been posted on KZfaq. Interesting. The passenger loading is up again this year and as long as it keeps up the trains will run as they can. Have a great Sunday afternoon and evening back there. Marne posted hid video as well. It is 34 F as I write this at 1130 MST. We are to reach into the mid 40s today and then for a while more. BUT the caveat is it is still the middle of winter! The National Western Stock Show in Denver lived up to having the lowest temperatures during the event and it did. That ends today and the temps are rising just to set us up for another cold spell. Good afternoon, sarahjane; Thank you for looking in as well as the comments. Had a difficult time tracking this train as AMTRAKs tracker map only showed location and speed. Everything else was null. Two other tracker maps were the same, but I did keep an eye on it as it crossed the western half of Nebraska and into Colorado. What fun! It is 43 F. here as I write this at 1233 MST. Good morning, Michael; Thanks for dropping by as well as the comments. There was a "traffic jam" at DUS this morning. Thay may have to put on more help around the AMTRAK area. LOL! I haven't confirmed but have grapevine news that WPE is basically sold out for the season. If so, awesome! It is just great to have it running again this year. As it is right now, I'd rather AMTRAK and the state put the money into updating the safety fixtures at this station and a couple others. Once that is under control, then pursue the Front Range passenger traffic. I am afraid AMTRAK will allow any stations along the front range to fall into the same shape our 101-year-old station is out here. Just looking out for us elderly and geezers. LOL!
