Join me for a scenic overnight train trip from Emeryville, CA in the Bay Area to Denver, the first night of Amtrak's California Zephyr through the Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountains, in winter. I traveled in a Superliner roomette compartment.

Great video! I did the Zephyr this time last year from Martinez to Denver and back. I have also done the Coast Starlight from Martinez to LA and back. I love traveling on Amtrak!

Thanks for the winter scenes of the California Zephyr. You do a very nice job of narrating the trip. I do the full trip every year in June when the daylight is longest. Did you end this trip in Denver on Valentine’s Day?

What was your favorite meal on this train? How many hours of uninterrupted sleep did you get on this train?

The Amtrak steak was once again my favorite, but I had the chicken for the second dinner and it was also good. For sleep, I got about 6 hours on this train, not too bad.
