I'm from New Zealand on the other side of the world and have fallen in love with the old classics, Lord Kitchener, Mighty Sparrow adn the rest... I'm so excited to discover this channel and learn more about them and especially to find that Calypso is thriving in 2024... I want to come and see the fiesta!

Reading about it via the Trinidad 🇹🇹 Guardian, Newsday & Express. For those of us who cannot be in Queens Park in Port Of Spain & Skinner Park in San F'Do, thank God 🙏for KZfaq!!! 😂 Congratulations to all the artists who performed Machel, Karen Asche, Gypsy etc.... It was not that long that Soca was created (circa 1973-1974) "Indrani/ Art of Love Making & "Endless Vibrations"- Lord Shorty. The first record that had the name (to my knowledge)- Soca Explosion (1978). Lord Kitchener even said it once "You must accept change. Soca is Calypso." Enjoy every aspect of it - Calypso, Extempo, Pan, King & Queens Carnival competition. ❤
