The story is about a group of men trapped in a train during a snow storm. After a week, the men know that they must resort to cannibalism for survival. They hold ineffective elections, and are so formal that they even follow parliamentary procedure.

I had to read this short story for English and I couldn't read the first page with good comprehension. This audio helps a lot ! It's Acually a good story in my opinion

I directed the one-act play based on this book back in high school (the 90's). It was fun!

Very good reading. Twain is also having a little fun with the overblown style of 19th century political rhetoric, and if you've read some of it, you'll see he's pitch perfect.
