Discover one of the slave trade routes in Africa. Throughout the 18th century, the Cape Coast Castle in Ghana served as a “grand emporium” of the British slave trade. Africans were imprisoned in dungeons in the basement of the Castle that had little ventilation and no windows.
The Castle is today a museum and encourages tours of the old slave-holding dungeons.
