The Capitals are in a bit of an unfamiliar territory. They're the underdogs. This is a team that's been consistently good for years.The New York Rangers were the president trophy winners and Capitals. Well, they had to win the last game of the season to qualify for the playoffs.The Caps missed the playoffs for the first time in 8 years last season.The Capitals and their fans were ready for them to right the ship and get back into the playoffs.The Capitals enter into this series with no expectations of anything. Just feeling lucky and ultimately, they knew they had the right players in the locker room to get it done.
Jensen and Sandin to return.The Capitals blue line will be in a good position in game one.The Capitals definitely had the next man up mentality going down the stretch in the last couple games of the season.

I'm actually pretty optimistic for the series. Crazy stuff happens in the playoffs! I have a feeling the Rangers are going to underestimate us coming in to this and that will allow us to steal some games. If Chucky can stay hot, and Kuemper can channel his Stanley Cup winning performance in the games he plays, I think there is actually a decent chance. Either way got my tickets for game 4! Let's go Caps!

I think it’s great that the tables have turned-that the Caps are coming in with nothing to lose. So many years we’ve had all the pressure. Now the boys will be loose. The Outlaw is sitting at the table with a pocket full of found money. Deal the cards..

Rangers are 18-8-0 against the metro the caps are 16-9-2 it'll be closer than everyone expects. Rangers are still favourites but don't write off the caps
