@Thomas Lopez Durand Turnips are a vegetable that farmers use that can also be used for soup, typically farmers are not the richest of people so therefore they could technically be classified as lower on the rich scale so saying that Wade can’t even afford turnips shows that wade is so poor that he can’t even afford turnips
