Thank you! Yes, I totally see this being a great office cardigan - especially if you have AC running in the Summer.

Thanks for videos, I really enjoy them. I'm knitting this levitate wrap nearly finished for my daughter. I'm knitting the large for her in the Isager recommended yarn. I too had difficulty with the patter in the exact same places as you, but figured it out. It was fantastic to see your process through this knit.

Thanks so much for watching! I'm glad I'm not the only one who stumbled a bit, but luckily those areas weren't complete road blocks to finishing the wrap.

Oh my gosh this is so gorgeous. I am very tempted to copy your yarn choice/colour too. I'd be very interested to hear how it wears and holds up in the future and how warm it is.

Thank you! So far there's been the usual bit of pilling on the sleeves. This happens with every new knit I make. I've done one good shaving session and I'll be sure to do a follow-up later in the year. The fabric is warm, probably not appropriate for Summer days, but works in the evenings and cooler days for me.

Thanks so much for watching! Honestly, I was hesitant at first about the Levitate Wrap. I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy a cardigan that has to be worn closed all the time since I like to wear open cardigans. No hesitations now, I love wearing this and making up with outfits with it.

That wrap is magical and you worked it up beautifully! I was fascinated seeing how you cast off those sleeves - I have never seen that before and the result is so professional looking! I was wondering how that method would work with a ribbing cuff? I learned to knit a gazillion years ago from my Mom (funny story: in my first year of university, I asked her to knit a Lopi sweater for the fellow I was head over heels for if I bought the materials. She agreed and when I gave her his measurements, she almost fell over. My Dad was quite slim back then, but my then boyfriend/now hubby was a football and rugby player, and had shoulders the size of a barn. On my very first day of Christmas vacation that year, my ,other sat me down, handed e yarn and knitting needles, and announced that I was going to learn how to knit them and there. Her reasoning was that I seemed pretty stuck on this guy (intuitive as we will be married 39 years in August), and she had never before knit a sweater so large and had no intention of ever doing so again! LOL Now when the hubster starts to grumble about how much I have spent on a yarn, I remind him that it’s only because of him that I can knit. 🤣 Anyway, I really wanted to commend you on how jaw-droppingly GORGEOUS your new cardi is and how beautiful that finish is on the sleeve. I am really glad I found your channel! ☺️☺️☺️

Thanks for a great video on this wrap! I've been looking at it for a while, but because of the photos of the original model, I wasn't sure if it would be flattering. I love the way it fits you, and I have a similar body type, so this will be my next project. Thanks for the inspiration!

Sold on making this wrap after seeing yours! I really appreciated how you explained your process and decision making. I’ve heard some folks have bunching/some weird laying issues do to the button fastening. Did you have any issues with this? And if so, do you think having the inner fold of the wrap attached to a tie and having an opening for the tie to pass through might help? Not sure if that question will make sense…but your eye for fit and construction seems so detailed I figured I’d ask 😂

Hi Alison, thanks so much for watching! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed this video. I totally know what you mean. The pattern instructs you to sew two snap fasteners but I found this resulted in weird bunching and made it look funny when I raised my arms. As instructed in the pattern, the right front crosses over the left front. I decided to use one snap fastener only on the left side (same side as the tie) as a second one on the right side caused the laying issues. I found the inner layer doesn't come down far enough so when fastened to the outer layer, it lifts it up causing the bunching. I've got another wrap in my queue that utilizes the hole method (Late Summer wrap, Knitting for Olive) and I'll definitely do a comparison of the two closing methods once I've completed that one.

Is this wrap knit in pieces or seamless?
@stringthingsbymel
@stringthingsbymel 9 ай бұрын
This is knit seamlessly top-down with drop shoulders. After the body is worked, stitches for the sleeves are picked up and worked in the round.
