So sad that she didn't realize what an amazing singer , drummer, performer and person she was!! Talented beyond words. Rest in peace, you are loved & missed. ♥️

One of the most beautiful songs of the Carpenters, written by Burt Bucharah. I have struggled to find it. The best moments of Carpenters who became later very commercial. beautiful...

Thank you for giving us a song that doesn't get much play. You do good work!

I love the lush orchestral arrangement on this. No, it wouldn't have made it a hit by the 1980s, but it's still really pretty.

Thank you for posting this. This is a case of the performance perfectly matching the song and driving home the painful emotions encased in the words.

I love this song... I can't get it out of my head. I really believe that Karen was singing this song with her husband in mind. The guy lied to Karen, made fun of her, and broke her heart. He crushed all of her dreams about having children. That may have been the straw that broke the camel's back, (if you know what I mean).

Karen should have sung this song at her wedding. Then she should have walked out on the guy.

I thought the same. The h__l with marrying that scumbag. The h__l with her mother and her DIRECT ORDERS to marry him.

Fifth song on the A side of the album "Made In America" that charted in July of 1981.Beautiful beyond words.By the way, composed by the famous Burt Bacharach.

Una de las más bellas canciones de los Carpenters, escrito por Burt Bucharah. He tenido problemas para encontrarlo. Los mejores momentos de los carpinteros que se convirtieron más tarde muy comercial. hermosa

What a fitting song for Karen to sing to that rat!!! The whole solo album crush, the dirtbag she married, so many people controlling over her. Someone said it correctly. Karen wanted to be a perfect sister, daughter, singer,....that’s too many perfects. I wish I could have been a friend to her. In different ways, I think a lot of people let her down. I’m only glad she did not die alone. I’m glad she stayed at her moms that night. Karen never did have the children she always wanted. She did get one thing. When her mom found her, her mom was holding her and all the purest love I know was pouring out from her mom. Karen had those moments of just Karen and mom. Karen wasn’t in Richard shadow anymore. I know Karen felt it. I am very happy Karen got that moment. She deserved it. Deserved so much. I luv you Karen. Your songs are in my heart!! 💜💜💜💜💜

Yet another beautiful song by the Carpenters & of course Karen. Gee, she is thin at 3:47 & at 4:01 Richard looks so sad & lost. Not many photos were taken of him without Karen by his side. How different he must have felt without her all those years later. Great collection though.

Sounds like this song was especially written for Tom Burris.
@No1KCfan612 жыл бұрын
to clarify, i just meant that karen sounds like a little girl here and none of the richness of her voice is displayed. the truth hurts sometimes.

Just your opinion, but you are wrong on this one! Since Karen loved baseball I will use this analogy in her honor! You struck out, dude. Take your bat and go back home. 😎
@HowDareThey197011 жыл бұрын
I thought the airy, whispery vocals here were an artistic choice, meant to sound as if whispering to someone that she found out her husband is lying to her.

I hate Tom Burris..he hurt my KC...KC,wait for me...i have nothing to offer you but my love for you is endless...i will marry you so please wait for me.
