I saw Chris Palmers visit on Huberman lab a year ago, and hopped on the ketogenic diet as a last ditch effort to cure my numerous mental health issues and physical issues - and if this wasn't going to work, I was ready to kill myself. And it worked. Adhd, aspergers, arthritis, parasomnias, daily panic attacks, depression, general anxiety, psychotic episodes, misophonia, skin picking.. Everything in remission. I mean, I still have ADHD and aspergers, but they are in way better control than they have ever been. I never knew my brain could function this properly. The clarity. No longer constant negative thoughts. Just a clear mind. This man literally saved my life. I’ve been on a ketogenic carnivore diet now for 6 months and never felt better. Average 2,5mmol blood ketones.

True, nothkng wrong with some plants, they compliment the meat, I eat both and avoid the crap.
@shangstr4 ай бұрын
Maybe true to a point but, which plants are you eating that are actually man made? with not enough years of science knowledge behind it proving the long term effects on your body eating them. It took them 50 years to realise smoking was bad a lot of these vegetables, plants and fruits you buy the majority of them came from a uneatable strain. With years in a lab inventing them and making them eatable. But their is proof some of the chemicals such as oxalates which is very poisonous to us exists in these plants. Don't get me started on fruit. 😂 No living animal ever in the history of life on earth that we know of, ruled the earth being a plant eater. The top of the food chain was always ruled by a meat eater. And here we are. If we ate plants we wouldn't have got to the top we would have had no reason at all to become a hunter.

Great discussion! Red meat is not harmful and doesn't increase the risk of heart disease, cancer, or dying early. Red meat, in fact, reverses aging. Humans have been eating red meat for millions of years. Sadly many people can't afford organic meat, which is quite expensive. Thank you Max and Shawn for sharing this very helpful video! ❤👍

Just because meat is organic doesn't mean it is better. In Sweden, where I am from, we have organic eggs. A rapport from Livsmedelsverket (=FDA in USA) showed high levels of Dioxin and PCB in the eggs. Higher than acceptable and 3 times higher than for conventional eggs.

You don’t need organic, grass fed, grass finished meat. Even the cheapest meat is more nutritious than the majority of the crap Americans eat. Eat what meat you can afford and don’t feel guilty about it. You’re doing the best you can, and that is perfect!

I did strict carnivore for about 2 years. During that time I lost all my visible fat and started to lose the benefits the diet gave me. I started to have days where I’d eat meat only until dinner time and then I’d eat whatever, as long as it wasn’t too processed. So now that’s my eating routine every day and I maintain my weight + feel good. I’m happy to hear the doc say that he agrees with people like me. Carnivore reset my health and changed the way I eat forever. That’s how I personally represent the diet to people who are interested. No dogma here ✌️

@ghost9-9ghost5 ай бұрын
Lots of bad advice from vegans ANd "carnivores". B12 seems 100% required for vegans...I take it almost daily. Having said that, none of the primates or hominids have EVER been "carnivores"....evolution has made humans omnivores. Plants are healthy. Meat is healthy.
@FedorBP5 ай бұрын
@@ghost9-9ghost stone age people including neanderthal people were definitely predominantly hypercarnivores (stable isotope analysis proves this). But I agree that people are generally omnivore. However, omnivore doesn't mean that living on omnivore diet is optimal. Omnivore is the way to survive but not thrive. E.g. eat different fruits, berries, nuts and roots to fatten up for cold season. However, fattening up has metabolic consequences. And if you everyday eat foods that evolutionary were available only in season (compared to meat) that spike your blood sugar to dangerous levels and make you fat - this is not good. Just anecdotal evidence from the past. If you read books about explorers of new lands from the past, even 18-19 century who got into trouble the only way to live in jungles, deserts or in cold was to hunt. Often they would eat only meat. Also they would use horse meat to treat scurvy if they could not hunt. That is just to say that almost any mammal is edible for humans, but almost every plant is bad for humans.

Carnivores are animals that thrive on a meat based diet @@ghost9-9ghost ie: humans Seasonal foraging does not change this definition. We are carnivores and opportunists, not omnivores.

@@ghost9-9ghost- tell that to the many who were healthy vegans for years and had to move to carnivore due to severe autoimmune, skin, gut, and mental health issues. I’m not saying some people can’t eat plants. I’m saying there are some form whom plants are not a good idea. And, overall, plants may not be the best. This is a list of those vegans who couldn’t heal until they went carnivore. But, for example, Rebekah has added some stuff back in such as periodic berries. Even berries, though, are more of a ketogenic accepted fruit, and it was after at least a year until she has healed. List: Steak and Butter Gal, Rebekah heishman, Jon Venus, Nutrition with Judy, the Ex-Plant Eater, Rory Bland, Jake Thomas, Isabella Ma, Eron Edwards, Dr. Tony Hampton, Dr. Stephanie Rimka

Adding digestive enzymes and betaine HCL are no help. If I fast or eat only vegetables, my blood pressure returns to normal. I can't be the only person who has this problem with red meat.

Why does Baker think ancient elephant type animals we hunted to some extent were fat. An elephant is only like 9% body fat. We evolved in Africa where animals are usually very lean because it is so hot. The vast majority of our ancestors were still in Africa only 60 to 90 thousand years ago. We didn't evolve in the Artic where animals need to be fat. What makes him think these ancient animals in central Africa were fat. Not sure why he states his hypothesis like a fact

I think that there's a lot of diversity in terms of how people's.bodies handle food....I don't have any issue if someone feels better on a higher meat diet...I just don't like the lies about "plants are toxic" What we actually have is an increase in the number of people with gut problems...and it's not because of plants...it's because of processed junk food, and even things like exposure to chemicals and being sedentary..... There may also be epigenetic changes that are reaching a tipping point....leading to a major change in human gut miceobiome and what it can tolerate....microplastics may be a problem... My point is that humans have always been omnivores....we ate plants LONG BEFORE we invented Hunting and were able to get somewhat more stable.meat supply...bur we never stopped eating plants The mechanistic health benefits of plant foods is well documented, clinically.
