Just a note: for chapter one, the first guy who pushed the other guy off a cliff (Albert Cloudsley) is not the same as the guy who died falling off a horse in part 2 (his son, Sebastian Cloudsley, whose will is being read in part 3). So Albert got the gold idol by killing that other guy and bequeathed it to his son, Sebastian, who had the book about spontaneous combustion and might’ve been preparing to use the idol for misdeeds. But since Sebastian died falling off his horse, he left the idol to Willard Wright, who was then murdered at the pub by Ash Blair, a tobacco salesman (per the note on Little Pip). The man who talked to the bartender about Willard’s murder in the cutscene between Chapter 2 Parts 1 and 2 was probably Edmund Cloudsley or Peter Battley, based on the high-collared jacket hanging in the foyer which resembles the one the person in the cutscene was wearing and the fact that they weren’t the ones smoking (and the jacket has no tobacco products on it). Whoever currently has the ruby ring is the person from the cutscene, and they probably killed or bribed Ash Blair to get the idol back from him, unless he didn’t take it and it was just left to Edmund in Willard’s will. That means it was most likely Edmund in the cutscene since it’s locked away in his office. That’s what I gather about how the golden idol has changed hands so far lol, pretty complicated already!

A dream come true: Gab playing "The Case of the Golden Idol" Both the main game and its DLC's are amazing. One of the best "detective" games out there, no doubt.

This game has a clever design, there is so many ways you can find single answer, like the darkhand steward and in the third case you can see that the Pear Brothers have brush with their first letter of their name on it, that is one way to let you know that both are the Pear Brothers.

Started watching Gab play this and immediately had to stop, buy the game and play it myself - it's so fun, 100% recommend for anyone who enjoyed watching the video!

You could tell which room was David Gorran's because of the tobacco named Ash Blair in the cupboard at 49:00. In the previous case he had changed his name so he could get away with stealing the "something important" from Willard's room. Because of this I was thinking Gorran would be the murderer of Rose because of the bag of keys stretched from Ada's room to his. I wonder if David Gorran would work instead of the Darkhand Steward.

Some of the cases can be difficult so make sure you have the time and energy for them! As you saw in these five the cases connect to each other. If you play in smaller chunks and need help remembering, you can easily switch to the chapter menu and check the other cases via the buttons on right corner (at least that what I saw in another playthrough).
