Hey guys, here is my opinion. This is better than the F91W in just about every way, yes its more expensive but anyways. Do you agree or do you think the F91W is still the king? Thanks guys and have a good one.

For me f91w still the king why? The design and i had so many views about test durability. But the f105 even once i haven't seen test how durable it is.

I agree with you. This watch is SLIGHTLY larger, the backlight is very good and the cost is not enough to even consider. Basically better because of the light. I know the 91 is legendary but if you can get basically the same thing with a better backlight...why not?

I own them both. 105W - wonderful back light. Still, in my humble opinion, F91W remains The King - legends tend NOT to die. However, when evening comes and I want to go outside, wearing something light and minimalist, I will get the 105W, due to the back light. Rest of the day is dedicated to F91W. So...everybody's happy! 😂 PS: excellent review, also!!

I have the F-105 since the late 1990s or early 2000's... its still running with the original battery, the strap gave out a few years ago. Now supporting a NATO strap. Still one of my fav watches. Before that I had a F91W.

F105 is a great budget watch, but I will go with the W217 as the alternative to the F91W because of its larger digits and 50m of water resistance. However the F91W is still the king to me, and I think that people are too harsh with its light. The little bulb is efficient in terms of power consumption, and if you use it in a dark environment after your eyes have ajusted to the conditions, is enough to see all the digits... I always sleep with my F91W, and the dim light allows me to check the time in the middle of the night without being awake by a big flash. Thanks for sharing, great video and review as usual

Thanks for the input mate and I even said at the end the Casio F91w is still amazing value and unbeatable sub £10 but you can pick these up for not much more and its just about better in every way.

@@WesWatchRoom Totally agree, the good thing about Casio is that it offers a lot of budget watches at great value, something for every taste out there. As an 80s kid the F91W is just engraved in my memory, it was the only digital watch my parents can afford, and have a special place in my passion for the hobby. By the way, I would also like to nominate the MQ24 as the best value analog out there, it grows on you despite its simplicity and lack of additional features. Keep the good work man, your channel is awesome!

F91W is still top of the heap because IT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR LIKE FORTY YEARS. And has a bazillion colour varieties. And has the same shitty light it always had. Nothing in this world will ever take the place of the F91W! 😁

Its certainly been around the block and I agree sub £10 what it cost, it can't be beaten but for not much more, this is way better. But I still the F91w for what it is.

Long F-91W user here and love it a lot, i totally agree with you, F-91W is great beater watch with an extremly bright back light 😁, and really not a problem when you back home at night on a motorbike 😆. That's why i ended up buying this F-105W as the next beater, got it for $13 ship incl. at my local online shop.

@Wes' Watch Room It came yesterday, and I really like it. The screen seems clearer than my A168, and viewing angles seem better as well. Unless I'm imagining things, it's listed as having the same module as A168..

This is the thing as well with price increases. I've just checked my Amazon account and I purchased my A168 in July 2020 for £22.50 cheapest price I can now see on Amazon is just under £38.

In my experience, these Casios only lose or gain about 2-3 seconds a month. I have a Casio with a 10-year battery and it's still working 12 years later. Admittedly, I only wear it for 3 hours a week when working out and using the stopwatch feature. Thanks for posting this video.

F-105 is my weekend watch. I find it more robust and better built than the F-91W and it sits better In my wrist. Have you considered doing an episode about the GW9400 Rangeman for small wrists? Love that watch but seems huge.

Thanks mate and I found that for me it wears equally as nice though it is better built, wish it had the same strap as the A53w though. I haven't looked at that to be honest but I can.

Would definitely recommend getting your hands on the W-86 if you haven’t already! Same backlight as this one, slightly larger bezel and superior strap design. I hear they’re discontinued so no time like the present. Oh and it was also a UK exclusive if you want to flex on international viewers

I wear F91W during day and I take F105W for the evening walks. Exceptional pieces both! For that prices, they both deserve their place in a serious watch collection, specially when you are a Casio fan!

The w59 is another good alternative with 50m water resist but without the illuminator, which does make these little Casio watches thicker. Tbh the old back light does the job, just!

At less than £10 the king is the Skmei version. Ive had mine 2 years, keeps great time, great backlight and only £6.00 👍👍

I have had several F91 and W-59 as beaters but only keep now one military green F91 and another full white W-59 in my collection with matching color NATO straps just because their special look. In my opinion such cheap pieces must have two characteristics: a good illumination (neither of them got it) and be at least 50 meters water resist so I ended up replacing them for that specific role with a B640. For example riding a motorbike you need a very plain or thin watch underneath the gloves and you can suddenly be suffering a heavy rain so a 50WR gives you peace on mind although I'm sure a F91 could resist it.

You're better off with a W86: it's a slightly chunkier, more modern design with 50m of water resistance for about the same money. I own that and the F91, but if I was going for another budget Casio this would be behind the F94.

I like these cheap daily beaters but resent having to buy a longer strap. I recently picked up the MRW-200H-1BVES for £10 secondhand it's got a decent strap length and only £19:99 brand new.

Assuming that the illuminator backlight uses more battery than the crappy F91W LED, I'd rather the latter since the backlight is also used for watch functions (like toggling the daily ang hourly alarm). I'd rather the W59. It's pretty much a 50BAR F91W. But if you need a bright backlight, check out W86 too. Discontinued, unfortunately.

With the increased publicity of these Casio gems on other KZfaq channels, they’ve increased in popularity. However, people don’t realise they’re really for kiddies or very tiny wrists. Just over a tenner is ok, I got one a week ago for a tenner with a discount code. Nostalgia is a drug lol. Fabulous review on the alternative choice. Battery life on these little watches is superb. Bit of cheeky affordable fun.

They're not for kiddies. These are millenial opinions - and that's fine. I'm a bit older though and these watch sizes were the norm back in the days (digital "sport watches" in the 70s and 80s) - in the 1990s, the typical size for a men’s watch was in the 37-39mm wide range. Only since the late 90s early 2000s watches increased post the 40mm diameter. In the end it comes down to personal taste of course - to me some of those men with their big watches sometimes look silly though.

To me the F201WA-1AV has the least amount of features I would need in a budget Casio: 5 alarms and a countdown timer. About the same price as the F-105w.

It's around £11 to £13 for the f91w. It's around £30 for the f105w. Honestly, I stick to the f91w. edit. I saw one second hand for £20 good condition on amazon uk. Maybe it's just £30 at the moment and will drop soon. Even if it's £20, the f91w is only max £13. Imo f91w is still better. Remember they both stratch quite easierly but still good value for money, I guess

If can live with the branding just buy the SKMEI F91W instead. Ive had mine 2 years with no issues. Still on its original battery, waterproof tested and the backlight works great.. a bargain at £6.00 inc postage.

A new value king could be the W-201-1AV. Comfortable to wear with big digits and a good backlight. Amazon Price 15$. Do not confuse with the F-201WA-1AV.

If you’re stepping up the budget anyways, the Casio Royale/world time is the king in my book! Only 30 bucks and you dont have to worry about getting it wet!

is it waterproof when the buttons are pushed in? i guess no, same like the f91w that is likewise "water resist", therefor i think these two watches are not worth it at all. how quickly can happen to push a button in when showering, these watches would the damage in like a second, and i dont want to put my watch on & of every time. The casio w-59 is rated "50m" water resist, its screen looks similar to the f91w and its waterproof when the buttons are pushed in, that would be the actual best value watch amongst casio watches that are currently avaiable new.

Depends on how you wear your watch, I've worn this and a f91 in the shower and both survived fine. I tend not to use the buttons though as why would you need to.

@@WesWatchRoom because i like to wash my wash my watch on my wrist when i'm in the shower, buttons are then pushed in to geht the fingers down to the edge on the case around the button, the Casio watches that are rated only "water resist" are in that case not waterproof. thats why the W-59 is the better alternative to the F-105 or F91W, as i wrote in my comment before.
