The audience I saw it with was alive! There was a woman who screamed louder than everyone else at the scary parts and she'd apologize afterwards. We all laughed and cheered and got frustrated at the same time. We applauded when it was over. It was a wonderful experience.

Back in the 90s, there was an explosion of black movies, but then it quietened down until these past few years where it's just been one great black film/TV series after the other. Straight Outta Compton, 12 Years A Slave, Dope, Moonlight, Get Out, Fences, Hidden Figures, Atlanta, Insecure, Chewing Gum, and more. Black Panther has got to be the biggest upcoming movie, with 90% of the cast being black. Glad to see the resurgence.

The Help, Django, The Butler, Selma, Fruitvale Station. But let's not forget in the 90s those black films not all but most portrayed us blacks in a negative and stereotypical way where we were never the protagonist or the character portrayed in a good light, either the ghetto loud hood girl or a black guy was a criminal/drug dealer pimp, etc. this decade as a reflection of Obama winning and all the Pro-Black movements as a result of increased injustice has given us a platform to showcase films from OUR perspective not some old white man or Jew writing scripts for us. Finally were are being portrayed in our truth and what we want to show the world not how the world sees us!!

What makes it really insightful is I think it's the only movie I've seen that depicts racist violence against black people as a result of white sycophancy rather than white supremacy. They legitimately believe black people are superior to them and want to become them, and it's freaky as hell because that idea is communicated in such a believable way.

Mariama Bah that's true too. There's endless variations of racism and white supremacy. You're completely correct, they fear the mental capabilities of other races as well but I do believe it's the notion that non whites lack proper and basic knowledge that's been more prevalent in societies across the world in general. Pretty much in all countries that white people have taken over, they forced their own beliefs, values, religions, and educational systems onto the people of the land. They mostly thought if you didn't act the way they act, or talk the way they talk, you're not up to par. Both go hand and hand though, they indoctrinate others because they believe their way of thinking is superior and they don't want other races to learn the truth and become more powerful. It's all just a big cornucopia of racist, ignorant bull shit lol

I really love the fact that Jordan says his movie relates to all minority's because I know there were elements of the film that me and my family have been able to understand. As a Mexican young woman it is an absolute pleasure to be able to relate to a scary movie without a minority's being used as the token person.

I saw that as well. My Dad said sometimes white women adopt black children to this end as well. I need to research more to confirm but I type this as a warning to keep your mind open and your wits about you. Don't assume these things are farfetched. They aren't

I don't like how the lead actor didn't get to do more talking in this interview. The women is trying to take over the interview.

stephanstafford I agree, I just saw another video with them and the two times the interviewer directed the question directly to the lead actor he would start answering and she would interrupt and answer for him. then she would keep touching his leg lol

Yes, I got sick of her voice 12:57 and tried to skip ahead and would always stop on her voice. I noticed how Daniel was leaning away from her. lol.

It's a good movie and my opinion it relates to truth, I've watch the movie twice and will watch it a third time, but my opinion I think it's more of a suspense than horror movie.

I wish Allison would shut up and stop talking over Jordan and Daniel. We don't need her interrupting the Director every few seconds to give Her opinion of the Writer/Director's insights. She does that in every interview, which ironically reinforces one of the main points of Get Out.

I think movies like this are good, it gets the dialogue started. I don't think we mean to, say something that might be overtly racist. I remember I said to a woman once at a party, and I didn't even know her. I love Oprah Winfrey, to which she said OK what do you want me to do about that? That was kind of my moment where I wasn't trying to say something racist, I was in a lot of ways trying to connect with her, in the best way that I knew how, thankfully we turned out to be really good friends later.
