I’m pretty sure godzilla is a male hence the King Of The Monsters. But the 1999 version we are unsure of because it lays eggs, but reptiles are known to change gender to mate. But in order to do that, you would need another male/female around, so maybe in the 1999 movie, their could have been TWO zillas.

However, he states that Minilla's presence suggests that a female Godzilla may exist somewhere, and offers speculation that perhaps the 1954 Godzilla could have been a female.

It shows you that some people know The Godzilla character by name only. I have seen every Godzilla movie made. I have never heard him referred to as female. It's always been he or him. King even. Even the 1998 American movie still said he. He sometimes was referred to as it. After all , it is a monster. But He is KING OF THE MONSTERS! You Godzilla female wannabes get over it!

@@JoJowitMojo Well that his title given by humans, biologically we don't really know his gender. Also depends on the godzilla iteration. Shin Godzilla, probably isn't either gender since they don't need genitals to reproduce, they can just clone themself. Godzilla 2000 (Or Zilla) probably is female since she can reproduce asexually like some reptiles. Legendary godzilla has no biological evidence of being either gender. Only thing we got is the king title and that's given by humans. Maybe he's female, maybe he's male, maybe he's neither. I say he's male but I have no evidence for it so it's debatable.

Thats only the 98 version, all the others besides shin and earth who can reproduce with cell division, are males and don’t have female reproductive organs, they need mates, and since they are the last of their species, they adopt kids instead of having them.

Godzilla never laid any eggs though, the one time he did was the bad Hollywood movie from 1998 and they basically retconned the monster and called it Zilla instead of Godzilla, Godzillas sons (Manila and Junior) are all adopted outside of that from what I know.

Definitely the polar opposite. There isn’t a single piece of evidence proving your claim… the original co creator of Godzilla Tomoyuki Tanaka confirmed that Godzilla is male in his book as well as John Fukuda Ishiro Honda’s son (director of 1954 original) also stated he is male after he directed the Son of Godzilla film.
