The story was well taught, though people critized the genie Princess Mona for being too annoying while Sir Glaive Genie was viewed as one-dimensional. The gameplay has mixed reactions, with some claiming that it handles Mario and his moveset nicely while others claimed that his moves are cluttered, even for the simple buttons of the Cones controllers. As such, it was the first of the Mario Fairytale series, which was short-lived. IGN gave it a moderate score of C+/S rank.

Too bad this game and it's sequel came out during the "Dark Age" from Mario's franchise.. a lot of people didn't even give it a chance just because they were still dissapointed because of Mario 06.. (Btw: can you upload Mario and the Black Knight soundtrack?? I love that one!)
