I would have loved to have seen a play-through of this.

I was interested in the game, but when I went to Kickstarter to back the 2nd Edition, I couldn't, because I had to buy an expansion too - it seems. Don't they want to sell just the basic game?!

The Kickstarter description in the video is a little misleading. I was interested in backing a 2nd edition as I do not yet own the game, but I played it a few years ago and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there isn't a Kickstarter for the 2nd edition. It's a Kickstarter for their new Renovations expansion and one of the expensive tiers just happens to include the 2nd Edition of the base game. I'm not going to buy expansions for a game I don't yet own. It's too bad there isn't currently a tier in the campaign to get just the base game 2nd ed. I assume the 2nd edition will be for sale in my FLGS sometime in the future after the campaign ends.

Why does the video see sped up?

The kickstarter isn't for Castles 2nd Ed, it's for an expansion. You might want to amend the video description!

I played this a couple of weeks ago, and liked it, but it stuck me with just a small few house rules, this game could easily be played with all players building on the same castle, and I think it would be twice as fun that way, with playing room to make other people's rooms harder to complete. All you need is slightly more starting space, which can be accomplished by starting with some hallways attached to the entry way, and some mechanism for room ownership (who scores/benefits when it completes)

Auction board looks great but it's too busy imo

You both talk way too fast. I even double checked if I didn't accidentally set the playback speed too fast but it was just at normal speed. Just seems like you want to say too much in a very short time.
