Thanks! I’m 65, heard of this my whole life, read about it, sort of knew what it was. Never actually read it. Your narration is great👍🏻. My life was nothing like this but I can relate to the sexual angst, the emotions and reactions to life situations. You made it come alive.

I tried to read this once. Got nowhere. I couldn’t stop listening to this reading. I could feel the presence of Holden and I was existentially afraid for him. I so wanted him to be alright in the end. You are amazing to bring this book alive the way you have. Thank you so much. Your voice is beautiful. 💛

I have ADHD, I was gifted this book in 2019 and I have tried time and time again to read it and I couldn’t ever finish it. I learned of Audio books about 7 months ago. Thank you for narrating this book you did a phenomenal job and completely captured Holdens voice in my imagination.

Nolan the narrator is AMAZING!!! I've never read catcher in the Rye and I'm so very glad I did, cuz this Nolan reads guy was the best! I'm a member of Audible for yrs and I've never heard anybody better! In fact, I've always loved forensic files narrator Peter Thomas, but he passed away yrs ago and his son doesn't narrate anymore, but I've found a new love in Nolan!

I started learning English seriously when I read the Japanese translated version of The Catcher and wanted to know what Holden was saying in his own language. I was thirteen. The Penguin paperback was the first ever English book I bought with my allowance. Decades later, your reading is bringing back the sweetest memory and one of the best decisions in my life to this 50-something lady's heart. Feels like the boy is speaking directly to me again after all these years. Thank you Nolan, you're amazing!

You did an absolutely amazing job of this. Like others I searched around for this for a while and found some with voices that just didn't fit the character at all. Couldn't stand listening to them for more than 30 seconds. Then when I found this it just clicked. You bring so much to the character of Holden. I feel like I'm listening to Holden himself. You should pursue narrating further.

The novel that changed my life about 45 years ago and ‘rings true’ every time I read it (about once a year.) Amazing that this reading just about captures every nuance of humour, sadness, confusion, anger and poignancy. A magnificent effort.

I had never been able to get myself interested enough in this classic book, and I really loved how you read it. You remind me of my 5th grade teacher who used to read us books when it was too hot for us to concentrate on anything else (the days of no air-conditioning in LA). All those books later became Tim Burton movies, and of course the foundation of who I am now. I hope you're using your voice professionally.

This is my favorite book ever, and a perfect reading of it. There's no way Holden himself would sound any different. You so captured the spirit of the novel, of him, of even the most minor characters. I listened to it all during my workday and was smiling the whole time. Thank you; I will check out your other audiobooks and certainly come back to this one.

Gosh, how I wish they had audiobooks when I went to school. I like to read but listening to something like this is like hearing a movie, isn’t it? Now I listen to audiobooks every day when I walk. I speed them up to 1.25 per 1.5 ( in settings) if the narrator is slow, to get me to the ending faster.

Not very far in but I do enjoy this readers voice best. I listened to a couple minutes of two other readings and this one was best. Makes a huge difference really if you think about it.... this is the persons voice you’ll be hearing for over 6 hours! Lol

Some people are snobs when it comes to audio books. I love reading but there are times when audio books are not just equally as efficient as reading but more so and more suitable. My biggest problem with audio books is finding the right narrator. The experience can often completely depend on a person's voice and energy. This is by far the best audio version of this book I have found so far. Thank you.

I’m so glad I came across this book 📖. It was purely by accident. For some reason I always thought this was about war and espionage 🤦🏼‍♀️. It’s now one of my favourite books 📕. Along with TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and ODE TO BILLIE JOE. The reader is brilliant. His voice is charming and captivating. The book is funny as well. First time I’ve actually been engrossed in a story that is being told by someone else. I tried listening to other audios but the voices drive me mad. There’s a book that I wanted to hear but the only story teller was so boring 🥱. Proper monotone. I wanted to listen to THE LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE books as well but once again… 🥱

I see that I’m late o Holden’s party. This is my second time reading Catcher. I read it as a junior in high school in 1971. Our American Lit teacher was fired for including this in our reading list. Times change. Oh, and perfect narration.

I am only on Chapter 2 but I am thoroughly enjoying every moment of this book's narration being brought to life😂❤ Now on Chapter 15, this is honestly the best audiobook I have ever listened too... I listened to this on a whim and am so glad I did. There’s so much debate on Holden as a character and your performance of him makes me question how anybody could dislike him. You have this way of speaking that always makes it clear Holden’s good natured at heart, even when some of the things he thinks and says aren’t the greatest. You give him a vulnerability at points that makes it impossible to not empathize with him. I haven’t quite finished yet, I only just finished chapter 13. But I needed to leave a comment after that chapter because I was very impressed with it. Most times, I choose to read a book visually because I want to imagine all the character voices and inflections myself. This time, I’m glad I decided to listen to you, because you made me adore Holden and I’m excited to finish his story. Keep up the good work!

Didn't want it to end. Such a wonderful book by itself, but with the narration, it brought it to life again. Beautiful! I love Holden's characters so much. I love his relationship with his sister and how he views the world. You did such a fantastic job, it made this book much more enjoyable than when I read it as a teen, many, many years ago.

Boy o boy that read really got me. It really did. You know some readers just sound so fake and its a lot of bologna but this guy just got right in there and held tight. Like ol Stratlatter and how he cant let go of an idea.

Read this, half assed, senior year of high school. Barely remembered the story. Very solid delivery on this, enjoying the listen very much. Terrific narration

One of the realest flow of stream of thought. Literally every detail expounded on. Very organic. It inspires me to write out all those tiny irrelevant thoughts that resurface in my mind for a split second.

I hated this book when I had to read it in high school but I couldn’t remember why- now I’m 40 and listening to your audio book and I’m really enjoying it. It’s funny and your narration is perfect.

Really liked this, I’ve read it before, a few times, but that was years ago. This is about the best reading I’ve ever heard, honest it really is. I don’t much care for the monotone book readers, that just about drives me crazy when the reader sounds exactly the same throughout the whole crumby book.
