@noblejun the fact that you're actually down for that kind of a trade for Kevin Durant just kind of shows that you don't have the mind to actually think things through. You're trading away a young core for a player who's had two Achilles tendon surgeries mind you and is closing in on his mid 30s in his life and chances are he's not going to be in the league for the remainder of his contract. Why get rid of your second best player on your team who is in his early to mid 20s and has broken through as an All-Star and is a key component to your offense and your team as a whole? Let's not forget here, the Celtics swept the Nets. And one of the players that was consistently hounding Kevin Durant was.........who was it..........oh yeah..... Jalen brown. If you think that this is a good trade in any sense you can go kick rocks.

I agree. Durant being that missing piece for teams seems very unrealistic. Not only because you have to move something good to get him. Durant misses a tonne of games, often stops the ball from moving (which in Bostons case was an issue last year) plus he is 34. I would much rather have the great player and depth I already have than lose it for an ageing injury prone big time name.

As a Celtics fan. I hate the idea of JB being traded. Yes, . Jaylen is also at a point where he's ready to be the number 1 option on a team also cuz arguably he's on par with Tatum with an unknown ceiling. Only thing keeping them apart from definitive proof JB is better is the fact his injuries kept him from playing as much--Celtics had to put that ball in JTs hands. Hate bringing up anything Draymond green says but KD offers championship experience. "Al couldn't prepare them for that (Respectfully, I love Al to death)." This is a comment from someone that shows why they shouldn't do this trade. I understand that KD is a great score. However Jaylen Brown is extremely young doesn't have severe injuries like two Achilles tendon surgeries and is good on both sides of the floor making his team better. Kevin Durant is not a good defender let's be honest. He's an okay one. Getting rid of Jalen Brown for Kevin Durant is a freaking colossal mistake.

If the Celts are going for the former as opposed to the latter, then they make the KD trade. Bird in hand beats two in the bush. I think the Nets would end up with the better end of this deal in the long run.

It's not even just the aspect that Marcus Smart is without a doubt the best perimeter defender on that team. Jaylen Brown is a part of that young core that is so good and so scary that there's no way within the next 5 years you guys don't win a championship. And he himself said he probably won't be playing past the age of 36 in the league. So why take on a contract for Kevin Durant that puts him at the age of 37 or 38 when he won't even be in the NBA to play out the remainder of his contract years? It's a dumb trade. It makes no sense in value-wise the Celtics are shafting themselves. I understand how great Kevin Durant is but do you want longevity for your franchise or do you want 3 years? Because the East is pretty much up in the air.

So that's probably 1-2 rings if everything worked smoothly. Still a better situation than the Nets currently 😂. They still would have found a way to be competitive at least even if KD &Kyrie had injury/covid issues unlike the 40 win seasons the Nets had.

Then they add a few meaningless picks that will most likely be late first round picks. So the Celtics will still be good right now and for the future. With KD, they will easily be the favorites to win it all.

And KD would still get clowned if they won because he won with the team that just swept him a year prior

No way in hell does Brooklyn trade Kevin Durant straight up for Jaylen Brown. Sean Marks should be fired on the spot if that ever happened. I like Jaylen Brown a lot, but KD (on a 4 year deal) is simply worth much more than just him alone.

Griffin is washed, its 2022. He was already before he arrived to Nets. Simmons has no value either, also it was gone already in 76rs. Kyrie don't have value either beacuse his personality. I can't see how those things are Nets fault. Only mistake was trading for diva Harden! That is where they lost they assets! KD, Kyrie + solid rollplayers should have been the way to go.

Plus Smart is an elite defender. Just won DPOY as a 6'3 guard. It is very, very rare for a non big to win DPOY. Never happens. Thats how good he is. Only reason Celtics didn't win GS is inexperience on the coaching and players end. On top of being late bloomers in the regular season. But next season if they run the exact same squad back they'll hit the ground running and be ready for the big stage. KD will not improve the team and imo will move the needle further from a 'chip for the Celtics than closer. Plus all the baggage, drama, and obnoxious fans he brings with him. Bad move by the Celtics imo. Give up the best defender in the NBA for KD and you're gonna feel that. And Brown and picks? Oh boy...

The league is getting stronger and teams are starting to get healthy again if the Celtics run it back theyll have a lower chance of winning a ring. Also i’d definitely trade Brown for KD the Celtics wont lose any depth and KD can help the C’s win even more with his scoring
