He can nearly look over the rim without jumping. He can dunk without jumping. He is also very skinny. He will be great but most of his skills are just due to his height besides his ability to handle like a decent PF. No injuries and if he gets stronger, he will be an all-star this year.

If the Celtics could have still kept Smart, Tatum, Brown and Derrick White and they trade away Brogdon and other role players on the Celtics squad and some 1st round draft picks for Porzingis then the Celtics should for sure feel very optimistic for next season.

@urbangorilla33
@urbangorilla33 Жыл бұрын
People always say 1996 was deeper, but even after MJ, Hakeem, Barkley and Stockton, there was Alvin Robertson, Otis Thorpe, Jerome Kersey, Sam Perkins and Kevin Willis. The top 8 in 1996 were probably Kobe, AI, Nash, Jermaine O'Neal, Ray Allen, Stojakovic, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, and Marbury. After that there was Antione Walker who was overrated and solid players like Camby, Ilgauskas and Derek Fisher. 1984 also had similar players like Tony Campbell, Sam Bowie and Michael Cage. In any case, the top 12 players in '84 combined for 1323 win shares and 1996 had 1092. So I think this depth argument is flawed.

Let me just add this: Marcus smart, a man thats being paid basically 20 MILLION per year, had a box plus minus of -1.0 meaning when he was on the court, his contribution is LOSING 1 point for his team. He also has a PER of 12 which is terrible. Plus smart can't do much, his shooting percentages are horrible (40% FG and 33% at 3; these are lonzo ball numbers and we know how inconcsistent he is). And Smart aint no Tony allen on defense either. By removing a guard while the celtics still have (Pritchard, Brogdon, Grant Williams, Derrick White and Jaylen Brown) and adding a FORWARD/CENTER in porzingis (In addition to Al horford and robert williams) is a huge upgrade! a guy capable of scoring 25 any given night from 2 or 3 is an X factor. The celtics have easily become one of the most well rounded dangerous teams in the NBA. Remember the disney lakers had 3 centers (AD, Javale MCGEE and Dwight) to neutralize Jokic.

I think Milwaukee is gonna take a major step back this year, Portis is looking for a new team, Dallas might go after Middleton. Philly is gonna get better with adding Nurse as the new coach I got them having the number 1 seed in the east which I think is gonna be very important when going against Boston. As a Suns fan, the only way we come out of the west is if we gun for the number 1 seed in the West. I do not want to have to go through Denver in the second round again nor do I want to go on the road against that team. Also I think Phoenix need to avoid Golden State because that's another shootout that is gonna be high offense and low defense I rather have them face Denver as it adds a different difficulty of best backcourt versus best front court. With that Being said, I hope the Suns take the chip, but alot of things have to fall a certain way this year compare to last year.

I ain’t tryna talk junk about Philly or phoenix but Philly needs more than home court advantage against us plus i just think harden and embiid not a good mix both being ball dominant and phoenix needs to build a roster first before talking about championship but if with the talent and yall being able to play a whole season together I don’t think yall need to fear any series against anyone with the talent yall got

1996 is the deepest draft class ever. Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen, Steve Nash. 4 of the top 15 guards of all time. You have the other All-Stars in Stephon Marbury, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Antoine Walker, Peja Stojakovic, Jermaine O'Neal, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Then you have the ultimate role player in Derek Fisher, who's criminally underrated imo. And lastly the two DPOY players in Marcus Camby and Ben Wallace (who did go undrafted but I still consider him a part of the draft class). Just an absurd amount of talent.

Wemby’s defence will be great right out the gate! His offence will take a couple years I think… if he can get his 3-point shot to at least like 35% from the NBA distance and put some bulk on to actually compete in the post, I think that will open his game up to what will be virtually unstoppable!
