I do not understand how the male lead can have the heart to torture and humiliate the female lead but do not do the same with the bad woman when the truth is revealed. How is this fair? This is why so many people do not like these plots and end up hating the female lead at the end. She has no dignity if she forgives what he did.There is no redemption possible after so much abuse. Even if he dies.

Absolutely agree. The ML never tortures the evil FL in the same way when he finds out the truth. The moment of realisation kicks in and he might slap her and have one of minions take her to jail to be dealt with by the prison system but never is the ML as ‘reasonable’ to the FL. The evidence is usually based on circumstantial, unverified/fabricated evidence and any pleas of innocents are ignored by the ML who supposedly loves the FL so much and can’t live without her but is easily convinced by falsehoods against her. What’s even worse is after years of violence, imprisonment and false claims hurled against the FL, the ML doesn’t have to do much to coax them back.

I like to reimagine the ending of these with the the female lead leaving his pathetic abusive a$$ forever and he fits in jail or suffers some terrible injury so he can regret what a horrible person he has been his whole life. You have disproportional hatred of the abused female lead compared with the man and woman who abused her. I agree she should have gotten out and gone to the police-but they make it pretty clear in the drama that the male lead is rich and bribes people to do what he wants AND that he was using her brother to threaten her. I hate that she went back to him in the end. He did not deserve or earn it. He never atoned for his sins-didn’t even try.

I think both of your guesses sre right - on one hand this reflects reality of many relationships and on other hand it seeks exuses for men to abuse women and it's all right. Domstic abuse is too common and toxicity is on the rise. To me it seems that people are running out of their sanity and abuse is to often just tolerated.

I assume you mean they are physically attractive as a couple, because they do NOT make a great couple in any other way. He is a controlling and abusive monster throughout the entire drama-even after he finds out the truth, he continues to be controlling and manipulative. He never once respected her. He never once believed her - he only believed the truth after doing some investigation (8+ years later!) into what happened. He’s a disgusting ML and they should never be a couple. Maybe a happy ending would be him dying and her living a happy life with her child inheriting all of this wealth and being supported by the grandfather who also loves her!
