Playing this campaign on Hard is legit the hardest RTS campaign I can think of. It's not even the missions that make it hard, it's the macro part of the campaign when you're moving units around. Unit strength gets bled down every time you move into enemy territory and is really expensive to replenish. And the worst part is you can't even retry the missions - it's a full on Dark Souls Hardcore Ironman Roguelike RTS campaign - and it's fuckin bullshit! The only way I've beaten it so far is by turning on dev mode so I can at least retry the missions. Still want to see a campaign for the Brits though.

It was pretty easy for me, even on hardest difficulty. Even if you were at a disadvantage against enemies at macro level, the AI in coh2 is extremely crap and absolutely destroying it in micro games was a piece of cake. AI often rushes, does not take cover and goes through no cover terrain to throw easily predictable grenades. Starcraft 2 on brutal difficulty for example was much much harder, especially in those missions in which you have limited amount of units and you cant recruit more. Sudden Strike and Soldiers:Heroes of World War 2 (less of a strategy game, but with some aspects of it) were also quite hard.

I keep getting a shit hand from the game when it comes to the first Able mission that has the random objective. For me it's destroy tanks. It's hard as nails because they keep getting shit like Ostwinds and Panzers while I get stuck with Stuart's and Utility cars. It doesn't help that you can't call in pathfinders due to that stupid bug so I can't use one of the core parts of the "Airborne" Division.

@@66Rokers Yeah I know what you mean! Try to just focus on building up a big infantry blob with bazookas. The US vehicles are pretty shit except for the Sherman. Even their AT guns are kind worthless compared to a bazooka blob. After beating it with dev mode, I finally managed to beat it using only alt+F4 for retries. There are only a few upgrades worth buying with req, so you can save most of it for reinforcements. Some of those missions are just impossible to get through without 25% losses. Can't wait for COH3 though. So happy when I saw they were working on that.

In a desperate last ditch effort, Virgin High Command threw everything they had at the Chad Liberation Forces. Doing so proved to be a costly mistake. The staunch defences and ruthless fighting of Chad troops crushed the enemy's spirit and set the stage for a Chad counterattack that would drive the virgins from the rice field. With the collapse of the Virgin army in the West and the Gopnik army smashing into the east it is clear that the enemy's days are numbered. All that remains is the virginity of the Papaland itself. Edit: Do me a favor, write something better than this if you can.

i was unlucky/cocky enough to have mission where you have to kill repaired vehicles using only your vehicles, and quite early in campaign... bulk of my AT was infantry and my ability was unlocked only to provide one Wolverine and one Stuart.... barely managed to kill one Jagdtiger, didnt had patience to kill other two, that followed.... so i tip my hat off to you

How to play ardenne assault 1. Buy fox company 2. Upgrade rangers to max everthing and also 155mm arty to max everything 3. just kill the whole map with ranger squads which are litterly the best unit in both anti armore role and anti inf role.

BTW I found the campaign really challenging even on normal difficultly. Got random mission often on Elsenborn Ridge, which is also my progress so far... Held the line with Support Company (with completion of random mission in the last few seconds) after a few tries, no arty request made. Used AT overwatch a few times though, while I deployed my Sherman too late for it to contribute. Regardless of company choice, for this mission it's either Support or Rangers, right?

Support Company all the time. Cheaper team weapons and AT artillery make it easy. Also forgo a Lieutenant squad in favour of a Captain and Stuart. The Stuart makes completing whatever bonus and the reinforcements a breeze.

I always restart after I lose one man in Ardennes Assault using Paras only. Hard only. Im trying to beat it without losing anyone. So far, im having trouble with the skirmish missions. But so far, so good.
