It’s kind of like… you see that there are two kinds of people in the world- abusers and victims. So you simply chose one of the rolls. You become an abuser To avoid being a victim or perhaps you become a victim to avoid being an abuser. But you don’t really see an option outside of that dichotomy.

Ok I’m going to say something that might be controversial. They took the theories of attachment style and kind of invented their own twist on it… probably without any real scholarship. I don’t really trust these authors particularly. I think they might have some truth but… it’s not quite accurate and it’s a bit skewered.

I personally find it to be a much better explained version of attachment theory, but we can agree to disagree.
