They introduce one of the strongest characters who is even connected to All Might just to kill her after ONE fight. That is truly amazing writing.

I just wish there was more mentions of her throughout the story, to tease at a appearance of her that’ll be coming, which will make the impact of her losing much greater. But either way, I like the character and can’t wait for it to be animated.

I’ve been defending Hori’s story but this is where I think he truly fumbled.

I really enjoy the idea of Stars character. The execution of her character take’s something that could’ve been an amazing conclusion to a side cast hero into a weird out of the blue introduction/ending to a character no one really cares for all in one’s swoop. I love the Yuki comparisons since they really are so similar in use to the story. I hope at the very least Star can have a presence in this final battle since she wasn’t able to be present in the rest of the story. I love the crazy theories of somehow someway someone else like allmight or deku getting her quirk cause at this point who cares how much sense it makes logistically it’d be cool

100% her Quirk was so cool and could have been used in so many interesting ways. Imagine all of the combinations she and Deku could have done against Final Shigaraki. I mean everyone is saying Hori made Shigi too overpowered, so it's not like either side would stomp now. Actually wait, I just realised New Order could amp OFA... imagine her using both of her available orders to empower One-for-All and all of the predecessors Quirks.... something like "One For All is ten times more powerful" or "Every Quirk in OFA is stronger". Rip Shigi.

She’s in my top 3 favorite heroes so I feel this. Like many of you have said I wish she was hinted at early on in the series so her departure would’ve hit more. I wouldn’t call it an ass-pull of how she died but I wish she would’ve survived in another way like spiritually or something. They don’t even mention her after the fight really like Deku doesn’t do the, “more people are dying because of me” thing or the government doesn’t even mention it to the cast.

I really wished she wasn't killed off but I do see why she had to go. Still, she was done dirty and she could've been really good in the story. I still have hope in horikoshi and right now I still do.

The writing for Stars & Stripes was a catastrophe and here’s why: During the fight against Shigaraki, her attack to put him in a vacuum of space with no air through New Order + Atmosphere essentially was a guaranteed kill yet with the lasers being added, allowed for Shigaraki to find an out because Stars had to use New Order to grab the lasers being directed at her and with this, it negated the further use of the vacuum through the use of Atmosphere. This is where Stars writing is a catastrophe: When Stars used New Order - Atmosphere again to make a giant version of herself, she also used New Order to form the Lasers into a spear to stab Shigaraki. The Atmosphere version of her remained while simultaneously using New Order - Laser Spear to continue her assault on Shigaraki. So why did the vacuum created by New Order stop when she used New Order to grab the lasers but not stop when she used both Atmosphere and Lasers again in combination to attack Shigaraki? That makes absolutely no sense. If she could have had two things currently using New Order how she did later in the fight, why not just keep the vacuum going and still grab the lasers in the first place?! Flawed!

Starstripe is extremely unique, and lowly appreciated because, mainly because she didn't get much time, I wish she had more respect she was so cool.

I would have liked if she somehow lived even like with ragdoll she lost her quirk. Like star and stripes loses her quirk maybe her face got damaged a bit but she was saved. This is due to it would not only let her be around in the story but act like nighteye in the sense of a all might fan. And I truly believe the interactions between her and deku would have been hilarious.

Bro, imagine if she did meet Deku and just made him more broken. She’d say something like “Deku can now handle 100% of OFA” and “Every quirk inside OFA is 10x stronger” just imagine how much of a asset she would be if she was with Deku in this war. Man I would’ve loved to see that, but that also explains why Shiggy wanted to get rid of her fast but still, imagine the possibilities she would use on Deku. Maybe New order could temporarily give All might OFA again too or something.

Instead of movies, I'd be down for them to make OVAs for characters like SnS, other secondary heroes/villians/students, different time periods (1st Meta Liberation army, AFO 1st war) All Might vs AFO 1st round.

You know star and stripes kinda reminds me of lady nagant where they both have interesting backstories but wasted due to the story still being rushed now I mean you would think that the number 1 hero of America would’ve had more screen time in the manga but unfortunately she was Immediately killed not even injured in Serious critical condition just killed and used for the plot with her Order Quirk/Superpower not to mention we still didn’t see the other hero schools like shiketsu in a long time with their students and teachers of what they’re doing during the final arc of the series in the Endgame now since they brought back gentle and la brava back now being on the heroes side which they earned so overall it’s still wasted potential of what star and stripes could’ve had if her character wasn’t wasted due to the story being rushed now.

There is a chance that the anime takes a slight deviation from the manga and she survives but is badly injured and can’t be in the final battle

I think season 6 will end with Star and Stripes arriving(cliffhanger). Or Deku seeing Muscular(chapter 306).

Honestly, it would have done her alot of justice to be foreshadowed prior to her true introduction which I've said before but one way they could have introduced her to the story would be to have her first arrive in Japan(sans Stealth bombers) to help All Might. She would get to meet her idol and geek out about him Deku-style, which would be a fun way for the two to bond with maybe the woman having great work-out tips for the 9th user of OFA as she's built like a brick house. Meanwhile say, Bakugo just gets annoyed that there's more then one Deku in the world while Aizawa laments that he's doing to have to deal with TWO All Mights. She can then help around, showing her her character, her quirk and her personality as maybe she takes a job at UA, sort of like a guest lecturer, and we see that she's a much better teacher then All Might as she didn't start out strong, she had insecurities and had people in her life(her squadron) to get her through them and become who she is today, so she's great at seeing those issues with the students and helping them with them-a good way to get the students to like her as she's that similar to All Might but can better guide them through issues, even if her Japanese could use some work as it would be fun if she hasn't fully grasped the language and makes mistakes similar to Pony. It would be funny as maybe she tries to help Bakugo with his temperament, and Todoroki with his social awareness and maybe even Monoma with his feelings of insecurity-putting it on the context that both need to improve them to live better lives, and be better heroes. Now, while she's there to fight the League, since All Might just met her, he doesn't trust her enough to give her all the details about Shigaraki, including his real name and since the league would likely go to ground to avoid her, by the time she has to return to the States, she's managed to endure herself to the cast and audience but hasn't managed to really do anything against the League. More then that, she would still lacks crucial information so when her fight with Shigaraki does come, we as the audience knows she'll lose as she doesn't know Shigaraki's true name so her quirk isn't as effected as it could be. It would add more weight to her fight much like watching the Star Wars prequals, we know that the Republic will fall, that the Jedi will be slaughtered but we still WANT things to go differently because we're had time to get to know them as characters, to get attached to their stories and personalities.

One of the worst character introduction for me will always be alluka in hunter x hunter. She is clearly an afterthought after season 5. If she was so powerful then why they fought mureum at first place. She was only introduced to heal gon and then disappeared.

While I think SS was a neat character, I don't think it's a big deal that she didn't play a more prominent role in the main story. The problem I see is that there's no natural way to get her into the story that feels right. Yeah, she could have come to Japan after the battle with AFO, but the problem is, why does she need to come to Japan in the first place? Japan has many different heroes, and most were only injured in the battle of AFO that we are aware of. Japan doesn't need her at this time. I don't think any projects will come of this, and she'll likely only come up towards the end.

I dunno. The character serves a purpise of both expanding hero society outside of Japan, introducing a character that reflects and critiques American foreign policy, provides a measuring stick for Shiguraki's new abilities, provides a reasonable explation for why the Hero society had time to formulate a counter attack, and does all of this in a very efficient time frame. Its a shame that she sort of comes out of nowhere, but there is just enough characterization to make the reader sympathetic for her without having her overshadow other characters.

Star and Stripe was/is? a heroine with a live and a story. But the way She appearce and dies is just to facile. Star and Stripe is, almost, like Captain Marvel: a strong woman with a spine than can kick ass. Proof that woman can fight and stand their ground. But the writer decide to kill her, just to show how OP the villain is and gives MORE pressure on Deku. If they team up, that definitely shows how powerfull and fearsome the villain is. *Its like The endgame: all marvel heroes together shows how much of a threat Thanos is and thats rememberable. Villains like The Indominus rex, Davy Jones, Ultron, Dr Doom, Reginal Albatross (OC for my future comic) proves with standing together, AT ONCE, how much danger a villain is. Again, What you tell and share is true, the way Star and Stripe just appear is just a cheap shortcut for the story

I love Star and she is a great tough girl character, but her quirk does seem hard for Horikoshi to "logically" work with consistently. Thus he made her debut short-lived.

I'm going to be honest. I wasn't surprised that America didn't want their #1 hero going abroad considering how the american government is and imagining what it would be like in a super human society. However, I do agree that she could have been mentioned at some point after the 1st movie was released to hype her debut into the main story and then to see her death. But regardless, I'm excited to see her fight against Shigeraki

This is one of the biggest waste of potential I've ever seen in anime/Manga. Why not have her sacrifice her quirk to cripple Shiggy. But also let her survive to continue to fight quirkless as a fighter pilot along side her squad? The impact and message that would send. "Quirk or no quirk I'm still a hero, ready to do my part!" Imagine how shocked Shiggy and AFO would be to see her still coming at them with no fear quirkless. How inspiring that'd be for the heroes and regular people to see. Probably inspire them to also be heroes and fight. Absolute. Fucing. WASTE! -_-

Despite Star and Stripes being a character that was disposed of quickly, I don’t mind it that much because the series acknowledges the ramifications of her actions and her being present in general both physically and metaphorically, from the metaphorical theme of passing the torch to the next generation(as shown with All Might passing the torch to Star and Stripe and her passing the torch to Deku which foreshadows her friends helping him out in the visual representation in the manga) to her friends literally helping out Deku reach Shigaraki/All for One in time. So even though I do think that she could’ve been handled way better, I’m still ok with what we got

i wished they explored her quirk a little bit more, like can it affect quirks? a rule saying the quirk "decay" can not activate rather than to not decay that would've saved her body but not the quirk. would saying the quirk all for one can not activate only effect the taking and the passing on effects of all for one? or will it also effect the quirks he stole with all for one, and not just decay because decay being shigaraki's main quirk while all for one is an added on quirk. because almost everyone associate the quirk as decay like shigaraki and all for one so its true name is decay. heck flash rules could've been another element to her quirk allowing her to give her self 3 rules with 1 being unlimited time while the other 2 are only limited to 1 minute with its effects decaying overtime during that minute and the same rule can't be allowed for a few minutes. would've been cool if she had super strength Flash rule flight Flash rule reaction time thus increasing her combat skill.

How is she abandoned though? Her team literally just came back a few chapters ago defying the orders from the US government just to help Deku in honour of Stars. Proofing that their loyalty and friendship is above all the political BS going on. Plus this is definitely not the last time we see her as it was confirmed AND SHOWN that she is basically an existence inside AFO/OFA. Not to mention that she successfully nerfed Shiggy, which was needed. Maaaan people really need to A)read the Manga and not just summed up wiki fans entries and B) wait. So many reviews aged like Milk and there were so many people upset for example about the Hagakure traitor tease, because they think Hori is predictable when really he is a troll. My prediction is, we will soon get an inside view/fight of OFA and AFO and Star will greatly assist. Plus we actually have so many questions open regarding AFO and the two brothers that I can sense a huuuuge plot twist approaching.

This could have been done with the same thing with lady Nagant like with her getting hinted at while we see deku train with his new quirks such as smokescreen and danger sense in multiple chapters to make one huge arc. Have Shigiraki learn how to get use or semi-use to this new body and conflict he has with afo while cutting to all might and star and stripes talking on the phone or doing a video call where she could also meet deku blah blah they talk about how she coming to japan despite the questioning of her superiors only to find out she then died or heck have it be where she says this a plan they came up with. I Dunno something where it makes it more impactful and have her stay longer. Then just she shows up fight dies o she debuff the main villian cool what was your point again.

I don't really mind it. It just doesn't make a lot of sense that other countries would simply let Japan fall. Especially even in real life. Japan is alias with multiple countries that would defend it in a war situation. Like South Korea, the Philippines. Even MEXICO has a well-known relationship with Japan

i really love the character and her quirk is amazing but i have a reason for horokoshhi did this. It shows that shigaraki is no longer a threat you can take lightly anymore. He has taken down the top pro heros in japan+usas number one and now is a worldwide threat as he is reaching quirk singularity and if not stopped he will rule not just japan but the world. Stars and stripes death is to signal that there is no backing down and that the world must unite to strike down shigaraki and all for one This trope has been done before but at least it shows that even if your all powerful like bates you can still be taken down.

Hey pin me I want everyone see my theory After star try correct was stolen he put a rule that if shigaraki use is quirks, his courts would turn on him and harm him INSTED of harming everyone using his quirk so in order to be alive he must not ever use his works for the rest of his life because he will hurt himself every time he uses his quirk or my second theory if shigaraki ever uses her for then he would be erase out of existence
