Played the downtown hoedown in Detroit for, I believe, over 30 years in a row. Definitely saw him every time I went! The highlight of the show most times!

I saw the Charlie Daniels Band live in concert at the Pensacola Civic Center, and that was back in 1980. Opening for them were Johnny Lee and Mickey Gilley. They were great, but I wanted them to hurry up and get off the stage so the CDB could do their show. I was in the company of several friends, and we were in country music heaven. Saw the CBD live two more times, in 1997 and in early 2000s. He was terrific!
