The first answer to the first question ever asked here would become a nickname for a future chaser. It's a female fox indeed.

@@ITVgameshowsI hate how sickeningly polite the Chasers are these days. However, at least Brad doesn't read questions faster for the Chasers anymore. I'm guessing there was a legal challenge against this or something.

@@BollyToHolly I'm just speculating about a legal challenge. But, it's obvious Brad used to read questions much faster for the chasers now he does it evenly for both.

Interesting tidbit: The cashbuilder music used in this episode is obviously the one that’s been used for 14 years and counting now, but it actually used to be _different_ in the 9 episodes of Season 1 to follow! We very nearly had a completely different cashbuilder music! Additionally, you’ll notice the table is one step longer than it is normally. This makes Lisa the only contestant to date to lose the HTH despite answering 4 questions correctly from the lower offer (yes, I checked). Who knows how much she’d have contributed in the final-even beyond the extra step-that could’ve made the difference! _Also_ also, you can tell the show’s come a long way when Mark Labbett-nowadays the biggest advocate of playing the HTH strategically, particularly taking the low offer-is actively lambasting the player for doing so. Good thing Driss contributed decently in the final, or who knows the extra flack he would’ve gotten 😅

Being in the final is the most important factor. Particularly when 2 have already fallen! But I understand the emotion of the other team member. We are only human!

Weird how in the first season, the Chaser's head-to-head lock-in is represented by a gong sound.

Dris!!! He had pretty good knowledge but, so arrogant! And I hate when a player pushes the others to go high and then plays safe when it's his turn.

thats precisely why Mark Labett criticized him. Have to agree there.

He played it safe because 1/2 the team was already decimated. That shows the brutality of the questions. And. 4th is in best place to judge how they themselves would measure up against the questions asked that day. Perhaps he was rubbish at the already asked questions? Strategically, having 2 players in the final is more than twice as good at the quick fire round. So much more knowledge base with 2 over 1 person. That being said. I myself could go for any of the 3 starting positions. It’s whim. Because the questions are all over the place. Everybody has holes on their knowledge...
@Farmgirl-iy9zc4 ай бұрын
@@redelfshotthefood8213 I get your point but I still think it's incredibly selfish to push others into a risk you are not willing to take yourself. That's all about letting them take the risk to hopefully build a big bank he'll then play safe to collect on. I'd wager he would've palyed safe no matter what position he was in.

What a bum that Driss guy is. He pushed Ian to go for the big money and then went low. Shame on him. I'm sorry for Ian but didn't want Driss to win.
@redelfshotthefood82134 ай бұрын
Driss taking the 200 is a massive advantage in the final chase. Sure it tanks the total... but 1/2 the possible team was already 86ed. He did the right thing. I can say this because I’m not on the team. If I were on his team, I’d fall into the same trap as them, and say bad things about him. Human nature is funny, isn’t it?
@jojobee424 ай бұрын
BUT he pushed EVERYONE ELSE to take the highest offer !!! He wanted others to take the risk and then HE played safe to benefit from the total amount. That's not OK. Had he not pushed the others then it would have been understandable..

He only asked Ian to take the high offer because he received £7,000, which is a lot of money. He wasn’t sure if anyone else should take the highest offer, but even then, he got £9,000. I just don’t understand why he would throw his hard work away just for an extra step up considering that’s a lot of questions he got correct. £200 is reasonable if you only got 1 or 2 questions correct the whole round. When it was Claire’s turn, all of them weren’t sure, and Driss asked for Ian’s advice. Lisa also took the lowest offer, but she got caught.

The fact that Mark Labatt was unpleasant, arrogant and rude right from episode 1, tells me this is his real personality. I don’t watch any episode with him as the chaser
@redelfshotthefood82134 ай бұрын
He could well have been told to be so. For conflict. Without conflict, the show is less interesting. That is also why that awful woman was the host of the weakest link. It’s easy for her to be critical when she’s got nothing at stake in terms of winning. Mark isn’t that awful. I’ve watched about 10 highlights and he sometimes is encouraging. I think he has a temper and his high testosterone makes him competitive and touchy. When a beautiful contestant gushed at him he was flipped into being nice. He beat her, but she didn’t care. She’d spoke to him. So her day was a win.
