Would love to see a review of Stray Dog Strength’s GOAT. Seems to hit a versatility sweet spot between this (which seems mobile but not very versatile) and the isolator (which is incredibly versatile but seems a bit too unwieldy for me to use as a rack attachment).

Great review! I’d be interested to see if there is a budget-ish rack mounted option that allows for the versatility that is possible with a standalone. Matt Rosenman describes many different exercises he has figured out with his (Valor Fitness CC-4) standalone which is similar to, but I don’t know if those variations and exercises could be transferred to a Titan or Bells rack mounted option.

This is definitely cheaper than the alternatives but still feels expensive for what it is. I wonder how this compares to a DIY option using 3”x3” tubing and mounting brackets.

Great review, I bought one that was nearly identical to this from Walmart. .Brand is EVRYMATE and it was under $150. It had those wing nuts you talked about but they didn’t work as well. It also didn’t quite fit my power rack but all I had to do was buy bigger washers and I was all set.

You actually got me interested in this but when I read the Amazon reviews a couple complained that the leg rollers bent easily. I then found another one that advertised thicker inner rods for the leg rollers to avoid this unfortunate situation. I bought it, keeping in mind your observation of Amazon's liberal return policy. Thanks for this review!

You never did the GOAT from Straydog but its ok i just bought it. Looks promising so far, I think it will be the perfect balance between cheap/limited and the most versatile but too big and heavy.

I got one for leg extenstion only. I have it mounted on the back of my Ethos 3x3 Rack with 1 inch holes. Its in a dedicated spot at a dedicated height. I use my foam plyo box to sit on. It works good to me. I think by putting the weight horn on the front, rather than the side gives much better resistence.

Also on Glucks advice I pre ordered the Giant Stand Alone Lat Machine. Hopefully it meets the same expectations. Giant said eta late november. I was going to get the Bells plate loaded lat machine, but i thought I would take another chance on Glucks advice.

I almost bought this a couple months ago but wasn’t sure it would fit myHydra rack. Kinda wish I had now, I’m sure they’ll jack the price up now that your review’s out. It’s basic, but puts some of the other more expensive options in perspective. Not including the Isolator since it does a billion things. But why should we ever pay $650 for the Titan version if you can get this for less than 1/3 the cost?

*I bought a power rack about 7 years ago and use it for most everything but what it's actually intended for, the big 3; not to say I don't do them at all.* As an inventor with a formal background in the science of engineering and many years in the complex trades as well, my first realization was these have the potential to replace every individual machine with well thought out peg-in pieces. It would be interesting to see a commercial gym that instead of machines, it has an army of power racks with a bundle of peg-in pieces on each that are more thought out so you can quickly shift it from one machine to another without a lot of time and effort required. *It would require a fuck ton of plates, but it would eliminate a crazy number of machines people are waiting for and that cost anywhere from a grand to $10K a piece.*

For me personally, no. I would'nt use it but I've gotten spoiled. I also think it could be a bit beefier and you'd really need a dedicated spot for it

The problem with these kind of attachments, all of them, is that we use it with weight is very close to the arm, which make the tension really weak. Bullet proof included. However, I found out that if you find a way to put the weight at the tip of the horn, it get really hard, even with a small weight. Just by putting a collar to hold the weight at the tip (and another one to avoid making a trebuchet), the tension is completely different. Adding a band makes it really hard. I'm maxing out a commercial unit at 300-400lbs... And using it like this single leg at the time with a 20lbs and a kinda 75lbs-100 band makes it really humbling...

@@BreadAndGatorade as funny as it sound, my quads are not that big! I wish they were though... I was training for strength at the time. But it was not single leg, both legs at the same time. Gimme a chance! 🤭
