These rhinos are superb 1. The J20B and J24B are known for having timing chain issues where the tensioner gets loose after some time. The advantage of that tail gate is packing for offroad, i.e there are packing kits that you can buy and hang them on the door, which adds the versatility for packing

Recently got an Escudo X-adventure and I must say that it's a great car. Only downside for me so far is its fuel consumption and spare parts availability. I lost the left side bonnet air vent cover and have been looking around for it for weeks. I'll probably trade it in for a better crossover SUV soon.

Just an observation,new on the channel,whey you do car review, please start with the pros first and then cons in order to have a balanced review...this was all negative from the start and it could be a turn off when one new on th this channel.Otherwise great insight

For normal driving, 2H is used. It transfers power to the rear wheels. When offroading where 4x4 might be required, shift to 4H. You may drive your car on 4H all the time if you don't care about fuel consumption, tire-wear and overall car health. When shifting to 4H, its not a must to be stationary, you can shift safely upto speeds of 50-60kph without adding considerable damage on your drive-train. For longevity of the parts, better to shift into the gears when on stop. 4L provides more torque and adds more stress on the drive-train, recommended to use only when 4H fails. Only shift to 4L when your car is on complete stop. About the N, used when the car is being towed.

I own a Suzuki Vitara AWD 2019 with Sunroof. My best car yet, I get fuel economy of upto 20.5km/L. 0-100km in less than 10 secs. I have been to Narok Hills where Subaru forester was unable to climb but it climbed full capacity and had luggage with ease. It a big improvement from the one being reviewed. Got it for less than 4M from Toyota Kenya and I feel it offers complete value for money 💰. No wonder it's sold out before they arrive

I own a 2l engine grand vitara Ex-UK Manual gearbox can't complain everything running great, highway drive 9ltr to 11ltr for every 100kms, urban drive 13ltr for every 100km, it does extremely well on mud terrain. Those with 2ltr, don't be in a hurry to step on the gas, give it time once the engine is warm enough you will enjoy it's power.

I've had this car for quite sometime now and i must say its a good 'value for your money'. It has all the qualities; Adventure, Family, Business and to say the least, luku. Its light off roading capabilities is really a plus for me. Lakini hapo kwa drinking haitaki uendeshe ovyo ovyo. Usiwe unaenda nayo choo. Ukiwa masafa haikunywi.

There is an A/T POWER button on the left side of the gear next to the charge, holds gears well esp if u wanna do a drag but truthfully it's very thirsty n very good off-road it ashames big boys in serious mud bunduz u should stay with it longer to understand it

Hilarious. My two cents. The Escudo doesn’t like heavy footed driving, otherwise the engine will start smoking rather quickly. Then ultimately, even with gentle driving, you’ll get an annoying oil leak around the timing chain gasket. Otherwise it is an ok alternative to the overpriced competitors. Keep doing what you do, with a CK

Nice video guys. On the scoring part, I think it depends on the use case. If I was a farmer in say Kitale with a large farm that I would need to regularly check out, then given the 4 wheel drive capabilities and ground clearance couple with the price, I would give it an 8 coz in that use case it would be perfect for me. Vitu kama sterio naweza swap out for aftermarket infotainment system. But kama mimi ni mtu wa Nai, Coast etc yani city boy and I just go work and back home, basi I would give it a 4 since being a driving enthusiast, hio speed banae, haiwesmake.

I was thinking exactly the same. Use it for what it's designed for (not City driving) and it scores much better. For City driving get a cx5.

Another reason for below-average fuel consumption is the all-time 4WD. I liked the dancing I did whenever I hit the mud. Some good things - no transmission tunnel and a ladder-frame chassis ensuring it does not twist in rugged offroad conditions.

Nice review...For normal driving, you need to set the transmission to 4H...N is supposed to be used only for towing.

you neeed to take one for a full service @cfao motors (former toyota kenya ) and share the quote here!!! you will be suprised, however the speed is ok on kenyan roads. i have been doing 150km/h on the nairobi express way on a 2010 model without strain

Was looking at a salomon x adventure recently. Fully loaded. Am just so conflicted at the lack of a spare wheel ... Can I replace the door with the rear mount for a spare tyre or it needs a bumper change as well? That is my issue with this.

Hi buddy, i really love your content. Kindly clarify on the following;- 1. What is the fuel consumption of a say, 2009 Suzuki Escudo? (Km/L) 2. Between a 2009 Toyota Rav 4 and a 2009 Suzuki Escudo which is the best pick? 3. Is a suzuki at par with Toyota in terms of reliability since they all japanese brands? Oh boy. Unlike the one in the review the 2005-2009 were alltime 4wd, after 2010-2015 there is rear wheel to 4wd option. I have a vitara 2400cc jb24 from 2008. Very thirsty. Only getting 7kmpl in town. 9kmpl highway. But my foot is heavy. Gear 2 gets it to 100kmh. It's a 5 speed manual. Offroad it is a beast. In town my wallet is suffering. Love it cause I tow a trailer occasionally. Maybe I switch to an outlander or xtrail j32? I can 0-100 in about 15 seconds. Can hit 180kmh when i get clear road. Can cruise easy at 135kph 140kph. Handles really okay. Not cx5 or subaru handling.

A 2.4L that is struggling that much to hit 100Km/h is a no for me. That gearbox is doing some diservice to this car.

M dad owned a 1996 manual 5 speed escudo. Great powertrain, gearbox, interesting driving dynamics (understand that it can tip you over so power is ok). Goes literally anywhere, really capable offroad. This 4 speed...utter rubbish. On a 2015 car...unnaceptable.

1. Escudo are not meant for speed,it's meant for distance comfort. 2.heated seats acts as a massage for longer distance drives 3.suzuki are very considerate not on speed but safety ,Japan Suzuki are always very heavy,for instance the convertion between weight and engine capacity is so different compared to other cars,that car has a max weight of 1.3 tonn,comparing to counterparts in toyota ,the same engine capacity will have a weight of maybe 600kgs.

Your rating is unfair because the escudo is actuality built for high performance off road, its offers a different kind of adventure sport experience, its not a sporty racing vehicle. Judging a fish by its ability to climb a tree rather than its ability to swim.
