If you use rice for the stuffing you can also heat it up in a microwave for a few seconds and use as a heat pad if needed.

I spend too much time online learning sewing techniques and someone suggested your tutorials in a facebook group this evening... I came on over and have watched several before this one. now, I take classes on craftsy, watch KZfaq too often, and much time in various facebook groups- in two years this tutorial right here is by far the most entertaining thing I've watched sewing related! you're so...real and hilarious...I could watch your videos for hours and learn tons while actually being entertained. I sorta use craftsy to go to sleep every night *yawn*- this is gold! enjoyed your ironing board video too. don't stop.

LOL....Oh my goodness, you had me in stitches (excuse the pun) at the end when you were singing! You have a beautiful voice. What a great way to test the mic, lol. I LOVE this project, I am definitely going to have a go at this. I also saw on Pinterest that someone had made a small one that they stuck onto the front of their sewing machine so as they were removing pins, they stuck them onto a wee panel pin cushion on their machine. I thought that was an ingenious idea. Great tutorial as always, I'm looking forward to making this one. Lee x

I made my chickens as a family (big, medium, small, tiny) for my grandchild. And she loved playing with them. For sewing friends, I made chickens pincushion with fabric that was their theme. For example: black, red, and white for one friend; for another friend who likes to travel used map fabric, etc,

I always wanted to know how to quilt. I took a night class in high school but wasn't able to finish the class. I looked at some books but didn't feel like I was getting an understanding. When my kids were in grade school I was in the room while they were watching PBS and your show came on. For the first time in my life I felt like "Wow, this lady makes it look so easy to piece together a quilt. I tried to tape all your shows but was unsuccessful. I was so happy to find you on you-tube. I ask my husband if he would buy me a new sewing machine and he did. He didn't want me to buy new material just yet. So my plan is to ask him if I can get a gift cert. for my birthday. I well send you a picture of my first quit. I want to go to your store in Missouri so I can meet you in person. You are a very good instructor. I just love you. You're down to earth and I like that. Oh, and bty these pincushions are very nice, I'm going to make me one.

As soon as Jenny said, “chicken pin cushion” my heart leapt with joy because this project was the very first project I made when I transitioned from (simple) garment sewing for my toddlers into the world of quilt-type sewing. Approximately 14 yrs ago I bought Doreen Speckmann’s Norwegian Chicken Pincushion pattern and was hooked. I didn't know at the time that the pattern’s instruction for paper-piecing of the log cabins was not the norm with regard to putting average quilt blocks together, but was the thing for me since I can be a little anal at times and I needed that kind of instruction since I’d never done any block piecing before. I was so enthused by Jenny’s tutorial that I promptly bought some red felt for the combs, dusted off my paper pattern, and will be giving some newly-hatched hens away for, hmmm …oh, whatever I can think of. They’re too cute not to.

I love you Jenny. I kinda prefer your singing. Reminds me of my precious Mothers voice. When we were naughty, she'd say she was gonna go to the Metropolitan Opera & she'd begin singing until my brothers & I would cry, no don't go Mom. We will be good. And she would stop singing & we all would laugh. I suppose some very learned person these days would say she was cruel & manipulative. Lol. Thanks for teaching this old dog some new tricks. Here chicky chicky, here chicky chicky. Lol again‼️
