THIS is how you cover a song. You make it your own. This just sounds like a Dixie Chicks song.

While I absolutely adore the original by Fleetwood Mac, what I think I love even more about the version the Chicks did is the fact that their instruments brought an entire new life to the sound of the song and made it beautiful in such a way I could not imagine. The Chicks are brilliant.

How did these folks manage to calmly sing along with the Chicks? I can't get through this song without tearing up.

When I was 7, my godmother (my oldest aunt on my mother's side) passed away. I am now 24, but not a day goes by that I don't miss her. "Landslide" was her favorite song. My mother and cousin (not my godmother's daughter(she had no kids)) went to see these wonderful, powerful women perform in the early 2000's, it was a few years after she passed away. I had begged them to take me with them because I loved the Dixie Chicks. I was raised on country and i knew most of their songs. I couldn't go because I had school the next morning. But when it came time for the girls to perform "Landslide", they called my dad and asked him to give me the phone. I sat there crying silently as I listened. When the song ended my heart felt lighter. I am so glad that I can hear them perform it live. -currently crying my eyes out...

After all these years, they've still got it. Incredible performance. What talented, honorable women.

I love this song. It's a reflection of my motherhood with my children; not wanting to see them grow up so quickly and dealing with unwanted changes in life. Changes in life can be scary but we all know that we must embrace change in order to grow. ❤️🙏

A wonderful wonderful song composed and sung by someone truly special but you smashed it Chicks. You didn't mess it you didn't muck it. You sang it the way it was meant to be sung as Stevie Nicks sang it (incomparable). Thank you Nicks and thank you Chicks.

Okay. So I’ve rediscovered the Dixie Chicks during this quarantine and I’m so glad I did! They’ve inspired me to finally learn the guitar; my guitar that’s basically become a decoration in my living room 😆😳. LOVE their music, love that they all sing AND play multiple instruments, and of course that they’re an ALL female country band. We need more all women bands out their showing presence! Watching the Landslide video live during their most recent tour, makes me think they should redo the video! It’s beautiful, whomever did the graphics on the screen in the background. Listening this song I am brought to tears, how I built my life around taking care of my parents while raising kids. How it all changed in the blink of an eye when they both died AND my children simultaneously grew up and no longer needed me as much. I look in the mirror and see a completely different person, frozen, afraid of living because my entire life was about others. Here’s to stepping out and living life, the older version that requires me to learn all the things that will make me happy in this moment.
