Looks spellbinding! I can already see how brilliant the Great Emma Thompson will be, just from the trailer itself. It gives off that rousing, classical, good old filmmaking vibe.

Just saw this in cinema and I loved it, there was a lot more to the film than the trailer implied. In fact the trailer barely touched on the main plot of the movie but then I guess it would have given too much away if it had. But regardless of the trailer, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Emma Thompson was phenomenal and Fionn was amazing. All the acting was astounding.

I've always liked Emma Thompson...One of britain's best ever actresses in fact...Why has she not been made a dame yet like helen mirren, maggie smith and judi dench...?

Maybe I don't get your point but this makes no sense. Don't know if you've seen the movie (or even read the book) but the trailer barely touches the main plot, actually...

I don't think this is a true story.so much drama as complicated as people can be.
@n.q11584 жыл бұрын
@@tiredcomet3828 No, it's not a true story. It's an adaption of the novel by Ian McEwan. And as a reader of the book I can honestly say - a brilliant one. With Emma Thompson, how could it be anything but phenomenal?
@juliajulie85004 жыл бұрын
@@n.q1158 I actually didn't find the book that good, the plot is brilliant, i enjoyed the first half, the second half seemed a bit forced. It's a shame because i find the topic extremely interesting. Atonement on the other hand is a brilliant book from every point of view. The movie is also very well made.
@n.q11584 жыл бұрын
@@juliajulie8500 I agree. I thought the first half was excellent, the second went a bit fast. But I meant that the adaption was very good anyway bc I thought that Emma's performance was brilliantly done, emotional depth, facial expression and such - the weaknesses in plot weren't her fault after all and I thought she did an incredible job with what the screenplay had to offer.
@juliajulie85004 жыл бұрын
@@n.q1158 I haven't seen the movie yet but because of Emma Thompson i will, i am also a bit curious how they adapted the book. I agree, Emma Thompson is an amazing actress, i'm sure it's the perfect casting choice.

back when i was a kid i used to be a JW, a close JW friend was attacked in her home by a robber, she was badly injured defending herself from a knife, at the hospital she refused blood too, so this movie just reminds me of the kind of stuff JW go through just to stay in faith of being a JW, atfer hearing about it i started to question being a JW which lead me to stop being one at the age of 16, i rather take blood and live than risk dying upholding the belief of JW, there was many other reason why i left JW but this was one of the big reasons

TRASSHHH MARK 3:2-6; MATTHEW 11:9-14: “Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do harm, to SAVE A LIFE or to kill?” Jesus was “grieved at the insensibility of their hearts,” and said: “If you have one sheep and that sheep falls into a pit on the sabbath, is there a man among you who will not grab hold of it and lift it out [thus breaking the sabbath]? HOW MUCH MORE VALUABLE IS A MAN THAN A SHEEP.” Could Jesus perhaps be grieved at the insensibility of your heart? Would you say: “Let them die, this is the sabbath!”

Thee only approved looking into matters is finding the place mechanically displaced children belong concept. The only matters is a woman like this, who children have been mechanically stolen from her and keeping decent mechanics for those offspring, ensuring they don't live in sufference.

So there are just over seven million JWs world wide, a small number but they make a R rated movie about something that is very important to them that very few of them will watch. This is what's wrong with Hollywood they are out of touch with reality.
@terrycloth40455 жыл бұрын
Over 8.5 million and the reason to abstain is never mentioned because it will NOT sell movies. Thank you for your comment, Patty.

Patty Ladd JW definitely didn’t make this movie. They don’t make any movies. But if they did make a movie it wouldn’t be this one.

Would you say: “Let them die, this is the sabbath!” The sabbath law was one of the Ten Commandments and you would be stoned for breaking it. Jesus understood life was more important than the law. He constantly was breaking the law, to help people. Because the law was made for man and not man for the law.
