I've noticed that after the first ipman movie with donnie yen fighting 10 japanese soldier, a lot of chinese films try to copy that scene. The one issue is the films that copy that scene dont even try to make it in the realm of possibility. This scene in particular barely put up a fight, and everyone is just flying off the ring like the fighter has inhuman strength. The reason the donnie yen's scene worked was because there was a sense that it could be in the realm of possibility, although unlikely.

Why is this not possible? If the Japanese adhered to a certain etiquette, they attacked one at a time. And the legendary master has a knockout blow. That's real. When taking an exam for the highest levels of mastery, a person must withstand a larger number of opponents. But not everyone can do this.

I beat the snot out of two guys once knocked one out and the other ran off neither of them could fight though though I don't see beating three maybe if you are some MMA all star lol I just did a little armature boxing if the two I had been fighting knew anything at all I would have lost.

What is more ridiculous here is you after spent about 1/4 of an hour watching something intents to entertain then try to apply the laws of physics to scrutinize, in mho, a very well made movie. At last a more sober comment;.....yes; it was a terrible time for the Chinese Ppl. In the First 3 decades of the 20th Century.... China was incredibly weak and chaotic at that time.....I am going to drop a couple of Factual Names U may OR may not have heard of..... It's so sad how some people are so detached from reality that watching a movie that's not a biography is taken seriously. MA in movies too many to be honest has gone full fantasy with not much realism. Save for Donnie Yen recent movies and the Raid series, the art of brutal kick arse Kungfu has been replaced by unrealistic wire walking and or CGI.

Depending on your definition of recent Michael Jai White needs to be included in the list of actual realist movies. In fact, he is more realistic than most old movies. Here for example kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n92Co7ainK25mXU.html there is a little bit of indestructibility to extend the fight, but besides that, a couple times when the dudes don't go for the lower part of the male anatomy is spot on. Even the reliably mystical "Never Back Down" is extremely realistic for a movie.

@@jaimeduncan6167 Dude, MJW fell off a map and most if not all his movies were done with realism not fantasy, excusing the typical camera fx etc. More then some people comprehend what I was referring because they're not waiting for a shitty English dub, Lol. Anyways outside of Hollywood the film market is extremely and beautifully diverse all you need for most is content is some half decent sub for your preferred language and you are set.
