Great song by a great, underrated band. I think this song is more garage punk than psychedelic rock.
@9lettere668 Жыл бұрын
right.. the psychedelic rock from sf was sometimes very influenced by country folk blues trad music.. like charlatans, grateful dead.. the chocolate watch band were a great band.

I wasnt at the love in but in love with CWB in 1967 they were played here extensivley especially since they sound like the stones and Chicago was a Rolling stones hangout back then.
@EdwinJack64 Жыл бұрын
Good comment! Indeed CWB sounded a lot like the Rolling Stones here, especially the voice. Of course I know of the legendary Chess recordings, but I didn't know Chicago was a Rolling Stones hang out back then. 👍

Find a way into society There might be a way -mediocrity I'll travel that road Some others have tried You might laugh at me You've got so much pride But you and your friends you might cry When you see that I have passed you by Are you gonna be there When I make my mark? Are you gonna be there When I set the spark? At the love-in With your head in the air When I make my move, I ain't gonna lose, There's people out there who'll help me If I choose the right direction When I'm makin' my connections in this world. There's too many people don't know where they belong They need someone to tell them right from wrong You better break away, try to be yourself Don't leave your future to someone else Design the laws that gonna govern your fate You better watch yourself it might be too late Are you gonna be there With a broken heart? Are you gonna be there When I make my mark? At the love-in When I set the spark When I set that spark that starts the flame That burns up in the souls that have been Too late to be accounted for I'll open up my door and let them in Are you gonna be there? Are you gonna be there? Are you gonna be there? I'm gonna be there I said I'm gonna be there

I think you're right. If you freeze frame it, it definitely looks like David, with his Gibson bass he'd played, also looks like Gary Duncan sitting next to him, with a Gibson guitar which he used. QMS were known for playing on flatbed trucks at outdoor shows. Good observation ! I think these film clips are a combination of SF Golden Gate Park, and some LA outdoor rock shows.
@thamnosma Жыл бұрын
That's so funny because listening to this song I was thinking about QMS...now I see your comment.

So who was at haight ashbury in 1967 man😎😎
@lanewilson9822 жыл бұрын
It turns out that this is Jerry Garcia playing guitar on this track. Apparently the CWB guitar player was too high to play and Garcia was in another studio in the same building and sat in.

@@davidaguilar7498 hello LOL 😊👍 Hey man, I always liked the sound of the band. The psychedelic sounds of the Bay Area. Yeah, raw garage rock with punk attitude. Killer guitars. Everybody jammed. You guys delivered the goods. Spectacular cover of The Kinks "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" you not only nailed it, you turned it up a notch...or two. David Aguilar, how did you guys come up with the name CW?
