A group known as 'He Gets Us' released an advert during the Super Bowl which, whilst perhaps well intentioned, failed to convey anything of the gospel to the hundreds of millions who saw it.
Here's my take at what they should have done.
If you like this, it was not remotely monetizable due to the music, but if you'd like to support the channel please do!

But as I had time to process, I realized that the life-changing gospel message was not attached to it… it was almost as if the carrier of the Gospel should change but not the receiver? Some??? I thought we were ALL SINNERS? Your called to love Jesus doesn’t need your help to convict hearts of men the Holy Spirit does that on its own we were called to love. 1 John 7-8 anyone who loves is a child of GOD but if you don’t love you don’t know GOD because God is love. If we don’t do the first step which is to show love and give love then we close people’s hearts to even hearing the truth. That’s what that ad was saying that you Jesus washed feet. He told the disciples that I washed your feet so you should do the same with others. But that seems to offend people because they’d rather critique and judge than give mercy. Colossians 3 v 12 -14 remember we were told to show mercy kindness and gentleness w everyone and GOD forgave you so you should forgive and show mercy to others, because God forgave us and when believers choose to not show mercy and kindness because someone is sinning or doing something wrong they are indirectly saying they are better than God because they don’t think other people deserve it. Instead they must be judged and condemned how different are most Christians today from the people who crucified Jesus

@@Cheryl48015 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not [a]puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 *does not rejoice in iniquity,* but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. These Liberal churches rejoice in sin and calling it "love, kindness and tolerance". They are exactly the type of churches Peter talks about in the following passage. 2 Peter 2:19-22 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. Jude also speaks of them here, along with our responsibility to such people: Jude vs 18-23 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19 These be they who separate themselves, *sensual, having not the Spirit.* 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 *And of some have compassion, making a difference:* 23 *And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.* ---Love the sinner by preaching the Gospel in the hopes they may be saved. Not love the sinner by tolerating their sin and leading them straight into hell. We are to show the same mercy Christ gave us by preaching the Gospel. Jesus said "Go and sin no more", not "Keep doing what you are doing". Liberals do not understand this, nor can they, because they lack the Holy Spirit. 1 Peter 4:1-5 1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: 4 *Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:* 5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. This is what the true Church is to preach. Ephesians 5:8-14 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 *And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.* 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such *were* some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

@@Cheryl48015 Jesus only washed His disciples feet as an example of serving others and not seeking glory for yourself. It was also a physical example given to show the spiritual reality that you must let Jesus cleanse you of your sins. Your spiritual feet must be cleansed by Christ if you are going to go out and preach the Gospel. Romans 10:11-15 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, *How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!* Matthew 20:20-28 20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. 21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. 22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. 23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. 24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren. 25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27 *And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:* 28 *Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister,* and to give his life a ransom for many. John 13:1-17 1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him; 3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a bason, *and began to wash the disciples' feet,* and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. 8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. 11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. 12 So after he had washed *their feet,* and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Right! Jesus did exactly that to the guy that Mark tells about. What did Jesus do with that guy who came to him, but walked away sad at His answer? Some people walked away from Jesus and were not changed. They do not like His answer. Jesus got that guy and warned about his kind of reaction. He had already previously said that it was the poor in spirit who were the blessed ones. However note too that He didn't give up on him. Mark 10 : The Rich Young Ruler 17 As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do so that I may inherit eternal life?” 18 But Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’” 20 And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth.” 21 Looking at him, Jesus showed love to him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But he [a]was deeply dismayed by [b]these words, and he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property. 23 And Jesus, looking around, *said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 And the disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus responded again and *said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 And they were even more astonished, and said to Him, “[c]Then who can be saved?” 27 Looking at them, Jesus *said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” But also notice that Jesus does not expect the man to do by himself the hardest, most impossible thing for him to do. Jesus knows that God can do the most impossible thing Himself to help him. The man just needs to acknowledge it. That is what it means to be poor in spirit.

We don’t offer real faith to people. Faith that says it’s not about you changing yourself it’s about you understanding that Christ died for you to not be bound by your sin and HE changes you. When we make it about people changing their life of course they won’t. When we show them that Christ’s love compels then some people get it.

@@LBee22this philosophy of 'come as you are... maybe you will be changed' is christianity meets modern self-serving culture. It's not a biblical principle at all. Jesus' words, "Unless you repent, you all will perish." See, to draw close to God is to repent of your sin and do better. Jesus told most of the people He healed, "Don't sin anymore." A message of "come as you are" is not just wrong, it's dangerous. God doesn't want you as you are. When you are living in sin, you are living a life in open rebellion to God and there is no compromise. 1 John, "Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anybody loves the world, the Father is not in him." John, "If you were of the world, the world would love you. But because you are not of this world, but I chose you out of the world, the world hates you." Almost the entirety of the gospel of Jesus contradicts the "come as you are" pbilosophy. It's a watered-down, feel-good version of the gospel to make it more palatable to people so they don't feel convicted of their sin. But it's not truth.

@@LBee22That feeling when you write a well-intentioned and thoughtfully worded response and KZfaq censors it and deletes it. To sum it up, the OP only spoke truth, but your ideology isn't really found in the Bible. Just the opposite. Jesus said, "Unless you repent, you all will perish." You cannot approach God as you are, it requires a change of heart because a sinner is in open rebellion to God. There is no compromise, no middle ground. No watered down version of the gospel will save anybody, no matter how palatable you try to make it. Only the truth that convicts the heart.

@@CL0UDR1DER you should probably just google a list of contradictions in the Bible (there are many). An easy one is John has Jesus cleanse the temple at the beginning of his ministry while the synoptic gospels have him cleansing it at the end of his ministry. Either John is wrong or the Synoptics are wrong. Or he did the same thing twice (which doesn’t make much sense). That’s a lot of confusion from something that is supposedly “God’s word.”

Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.[b] The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
