Robert S. Pearson really puts the Christmas into Christmas Maze in challenge 7, playing the annoying cousin who won't leave you alone when you just want to play your new video games. Armed with terrible jokes and seemingly endless crackers, it's a test of endurance as the team try to ignore him long enough to defeat three brutally tough Cuphead bosses...

You can immediately tell who has had siblings and who hasn't. An only child will tell someone to stop and then be surprised if they don't. A sibling knows that is just admitting weakness and encourages worse irritation.

Clever move by Rob to devise a challenge that gives him almost unlimited leeway to distract and disrupt the competitors. Equally clever work by the competitors to divert his attention, or otherwise circumvent his shenanigans well enough to get the job done. Rosie's platforming prowess pays off once again, and Ash held up well for someone tackling Cuphead for the very first time, especially considering all the additional pressures.

Rob could have easily won by adding "Since it's co-op, you both have to be alive at the end of the level" so that even though rosie is hard-carrying, she would have to save ash.

@@mydogeatspuke Well.... I have 6 siblings, and... um.... that look on Rosie's face is one I've seen often. It's the "yes I know you're talking to me but no I don't care." look. It's not fully ignoring the other person but going around them to do the thing. There's also a sort of practiced ease feeling to it, like she's done it many times. But yeah each of us is a bit different in that regard. Not everyone does it, but it's something I've noticed with my siblings.

@@jtyler9130 I'm not talking about their enjoyment at all. I'm talking mainly about how Rob nails exactly how an excited kid acts. His acting is quite stellar. It's just a general statement that applies to them, not to everyone.

What i find nice is that how Ash can be naturally herself compared to what culture. I know I shouldn't compare but I can see her confidence and positive vibes fully come through these days! Dave Rosie and Rob amazing as ever. Hope Nath is keeping well behind the scenes!

I was thinking just that the other day when I was catching up on the Tuesday Checklist videos. Ash seems a lot happier and more natural on Access. She and Jules were the reason I watched What Culture. Maybe Jules can be lured over to the Access team as well? Wishful thinking probably, but I'd love to see more of my favorite YT gamers in the same corner of the KZfaq map.

So my new theory is that the more the pressure builds, the better Rosie performs. Next time just make her comfortable and happy. If I'm right, she'll tank the challenge. Better not pick something with a clock on it either, or she'll nab it in the last minute.

Haven't finished the episode yet, but it's obviously going to be way too easy. Rob should have made a rule that both players have to be alive at end of the boss so Rosie couldn't just solo the bosses in half the time like I expect her to.

This is what I was thinking as well, but that would have made it pretty much a guaranteed fail in combination with Christmas Cousin's bothering. Within the current rules I think 20 minutes would have been fair, they stil would have made it. 15 minutes would be stretching it a bit, especially with a new player and Christmas Cousin, that's getting unfair. If you have two experienced players, maybe ten minutes would be fair, even with Christmas Cousin.

Ah the perfect thing to go with a cup of tea and snow fall. Rob is doing a very good annoying little sibling/cousin that wants to play with the big (cool) kids. Reminds me of when my little brothers were little, and I just wanted to be left alone to play my game.

I really enjoyed this episode, but I can't help but feel like it would have been significantly more difficult if the Christmas Cousin was an actual child, because Rosie and Ash can be as mean to Robert S. Pearson as they want, but I don't think either of them would act that way with an actual child. :P
