Israel is a people still scattered. Messiah gathered them (John 12.20-24) and they were scattered again. (John 16.16.33) He will gather a remnant of His people Israel and Judah at the end of time. (Isaiah 11.11)

Surely you don't mean to say that no Catholics are Christians. Also, it is not so that Catholic teaching is entirely different from what Jesus taught. But there are indeed several teachings which are clearly anti-scriptural. Mary is the Mother of God? How does she achieve that? She gave birth to the Father and Holy Spirit? Then she must be eternal and sinless. Why is she the mother of Jesus in the scriptures? Shall we believe the scriptures or the popes? Jesus is God, but God is not Jesus. God cannot be tempted with sin. Jesus was, yet without sin. The sacrifice of the Mass? Isn't the sacrifice which Jesus made for us at Calvary sufficient for the forgiveness of all sin for all time? This is the whole point! We are saved by an infinitely merciful and gracious God. Simple faith in Jesus and love for God and one's neighbor which flows from this is sufficient. God will save many who are unwittingly serving Him in less than perfect ways with less than perfect understanding. But I agree with you on this. There are churches calling themselves Christian which are at best remotely Christian and at worst anti-Christian.

He never condoned these men as righteous, he just mentioned how much they shaped the world. If you have listened to him in other talks, in context, you'd learn that he's very much against the ideologies of those men. He's very biblical.

Catholics are not Christians

The Catholic church was in those times also persecuting real Christians and killing them. The Waldensians , the anabaptists , the French Hugenauts ,etc.
