Having toured many of the brewpubs pubs and taprooms in Bristol , the Primemutton decided to explore Cider , for which Bristol and the West Country is quite famous.
Mutton had in the past sampled a few still Ciders at beer festivals , but in the pubs and Cider houses Mutton was able to sample quite a range, from fizzy to still to cloudy, and from sweet to dry.
While it's certainly not Mutton's preferred style of beer/beverage, he did indeed find some of them to be to his taste.

I don’t often drink cider, but Bristol is as good a place as any to sample the many varieties available My 3 pub mini tour is far from definitive. Indeed I had 2 places on my list of places to visit that had restrictive opening hours and were only open at weekends so I couldn’t bring you as many cider houses as I’d have liked to. For me the Ciders at the Orchard inn were the pick of the bunch but that might just be my taste.

So glad you did the Corrie Tap! Used to live just round the corner from there and had many a night on the exhibition where I couldn’t remember getting home. Proper loopy juice.

You should visit the railway in sandford when ur next in the area, it’s the thatchers official pub and offers pretty much all their ciders

Some time in the mid 70s my family went on holiday to Western super mare a beautiful part of England I would highly recommend a visit while there we toured around at one stop we found a post office selling cider three types sweet dry and blow your fucking face off you had to collected a bottle from a pickup truck outside the postmaster filled it up and off you went happy memories from an old Jock

I really enjoy and always look forward to your vlogs, but am afraid to say that this one was a tad disappointing, as the majority of the ciders you tried are unlikely to have contained the juice of a real apple! Not sure if you were badly advised on choice by the bar staff, but many you tasted were examples of mass-produced, concentrate-derived, artificially sweetened and fizzy beverages pretending to be cider!. The West Croft and Scrummage, however, stood out as good examples of proper, traditionally made ones. Could I respectfully suggest that for future video material, you might want to visit 'real' cider makers like Heck's. Rich's, Burrow Hill, Wilkins and The Bere Cider Company - all Somerset-based, and all make classic West Country cider in a dry style that I'm sure you would really appreciate...🙂🍏🍎🍏🍎

Thank you for the comment , I’m not really an expert on cider , I very rarely drink it, but yes as I state in the video I prefer the still ciders , but some of the places in Bristol with the variety on offer of the orchard were closed. So I had to ask local followers for advice , I was very lucky to be able to able to film the one place open on the day that had a lot of the ciders you refer to , the Orchard. They have a very anti filming/photography policy and it was only because their outdoor seating area was devoid of customers that I was able to film at all. I take your point about some of the fizzy ones but I can only visit what’s open at the time and places that followers ( mainly on instagram) recommend. I don’t have any plans to make another cider vlog as this was very much a spur of the moment thing having vlogged a lot of beer in Bristol. However if a producer(s) reach out to me or a follower(s) with more knowledge about cider than me is happy to take me around (I can’t drink and taste and drive ) then I may do another one. If there’s a way of visiting the places you’ve mentioned without a car , please let me know , I’m all ears.

Sorry for the late comment PM but the readers may remember a famous cider House in Berkshire situated in the infamous drift road, like if you frequented it and extra points if you sampled a nuclear attack

My workmates got me absolutely ball-bagged in the Cori Tap for my initiation drinks, late-2008. I only had about 5 halves, but was seeing them off in one 🤮

While I accept the still cider is a better drink, I like the Cori tap. Apart from the exhibition cider , they also serve up a decent Guinness

@@primemutton Good Guinness is always a hit with me. I don't really like Bristol as a city, if you'll forgive me saying so (they don't like Welsh people, so I stay where I'm wanted), but I hope they still have a good pub culture that hasn't been erased and sanitised by corporate breweries

Westcroft is in brent knoll between weston and burnham .. they have a cider called janets jungle juice. Up the mutton

Cider cripples me with heartburn the day after so i tend to steer away but I do like it for a change in the summertime when the thirst hits. Years ago I used to drink the strong 330ml bottles of 'K' and Brody ciders, they were rocketfuel i seemed to recall...or not as the case may be 😂

Back in the early 80s thatchers came in plastic kegs stood on the bar it was flat cloudy and orange ish and it had an unknown alcohol content it was also cheap around half the price of beer it was known around trowbridge area as turbo tango ah happy days
